I spent most of this month studying lighting. I started with books that covered general lighting styles and theory (such as the Hogarth book), and then went on to find articles and more detailed information about the physics of light and how lighting is used in film and 3D animation.

Broke my record; 1 week baby. Not that I was trying to get it done faster, it's just that when you're right at the end, you kind of naturally get sucked into wrapping things up. So it took 20 days, but I finished the detailed outline of the second arc yesterday! The total episode count is 48 now @_@. I still have to add in a few smoothing elements, but overall it's really solid. After this iteration I now have a method for outlining arcs paying particularly close attention to the variety of conflicts, fight designs, and ( Read more... )

I managed to finish off all of the important character profiles for the 1st arc of the story today (following the designs that I posted earlier). I finished this batch faster than the previous because these profiles were shorter and less detailed than the 20-page monsters that were required for all of the lead characters.
