Reason #257 why I love living in Corvallis
When maxemulien took a spill on his bike this morning (don't worry, he's a little bruised but nothing too serious) instead of dragging two kids to urgent care with us, or calling for an ambulance to take maxemulien on his own, I called olstad and she took the kids while I drove maxemulien to the doctor. It was such a blessing to be able to just focus on him while he needed it. He took a handle bar to the gut, and we wanted to get it checked out by a professional just in case, since internal injuries can be so very nasty. The doctor said to take it easy and keep an eye on it, but that she doesn't expect anything more serious than bruising in the area. I am very relieved that he wasn't seriously hurt and so very grateful for the support network we have here.
