sometimes I feel like the grinch

Both the kids are asleep and for once neither of them are laying on me while they do it! I'd be truly celebrating if it weren't for the construction noise that makes this a truly precarious state of affairs.

Today has been a pretty noisy day, construction wise, but on the whole that's good because it means that the window is finally going in. We are adding a window to the front of the house and removing the unsightly, non-functional garage door. It doesn't seem like that hard a job, but that window has been the biggest headache in this project. We were originally going to have someone else do the window, but then it seemed simplest to have it done at the same time as adding the bathroom. But we somehow had our wires crossed with the contractor and he installed the wrong sized window (we wanted it to match the other window on the front of the house, he thought we wanted it to match the other window in the study) and correcting that error has added close to week to the project.

At least it's supposed to be finished up this week, and even now the second bathroom is functional. And now Mica is awake and demanding my attention--so much for my break...
