ready for a breather
Life has been pretty much one thing after another for the past two months and I'm really ready for things to settle down a little bit. At least we don't have any travel plans for the month of April, and I'm crossing my fingers that the remodel on our house will be done in the next couple of weeks. It will be a real relief to have our washer and dryer are hooked up again, though I'm also pretty excited about gaining a second bathroom, since the morning tend to be pretty crazy now that both kids are using the potty.
We started ECing with Mica around the beginning of February, mostly because he doesn't poop at night and so his diapers were regularly having containment failures in the morning. I finally got sick of going through two outfits before breakfast and started putting him on the potty in the mornings instead. It's worked pretty well--so much so that we even ECed while on vacation in Hawaii. Of course, the desire to avoid soiling clothes is even greater when traveling. At this point we've had a few days where I haven't changed a single poopy diaper--though lately he's been pooping a while after waking up from naps, and protesting if I put him on the potty right away, so I've been trying (and currently failing) to find another pattern.
Mica continues growing like a weed and is already in clothes that Raine was wearing when she was a year old. He is also sitting up on his own and has gotten his first tooth. He is acting very ready for food. He isn't very good at grabbing things yet, but he will lunge wildly for my fork or cup when sitting on my lap. We pulled out Raine's old booster seat and let him entertain himself with a piece of banana during dinner tonight. He is still too clumsy to get much in his mouth, but he sure enjoyed trying.
I should also update about all the traveling we've been doing, and the excitement in remodeling our house, but maxemulien is falling asleep on the couch while holding Mica and we should all get to bed.
