Cause boy oh boy have I spent lots of money this week.

Kijiji is my new favourite thing. There's a lot of strange stuff on there. Like the dude the next town over selling "Grass". This year's crop, 15$ a baggie...

All rightie then.

I bought a beautiful bike yesterday. It's a 1984 Nishiki Carrera in PERFECT condition. Honestly. It's doing pretty awesome for being in a shed for the last 20+ years. The paint is pristine. A little dusty, but pristine. Not a scratch, crack, or spot of rust to be found. This bike is due an accident.
Knock on wood! Knock on wood!

It came with a beautiful retro speedometre, a side mirror, and a curse.

What's that you say? A curse?

Why yes, I now own a 50$ cursed bicycle. The joy... I'm going to get it blessed next time a priest is around. Holy water sorts most things out.

Anyways, the story behind the curse:
Back in 84 a dude and his wife decided that they were going to be healthy and ride bikes. So, they bought two awesome bicycles and proceeded to do just that.

After the first ride the wife had a heart attack and had to go into the hospital. No more cycling said the doctor, so the bikes went into the shed.

About 10 years later, the bikes were bought by their friend who wanted to get into biking. (The dude I got it from.)

After the first ride his wife had health issue and was told, no more bike riding.

Back into storage went the bicycles.

19 years later they showed up on Kijiji... You see where this is going?

I'm choosing to believe that since I'm single, and have separated the two bicycles, that the curse is broken and I'll be just fine.

Although, since I'm the one who bought the bicycle, it really shouldn't affect me. Perhaps the curse will linger till I acquire a partner?

(This is probably another sign that I should become a nun.)

bicycling, omfg!!!, awesome, me
