This is Francois the Oyster Mushroom. Isn't he beautiful? And tasty. OH is he tasty. I ate the big one on the left for dinner tonight in a rice noodle, asparagus, butter, and garlic stirfry.
Oddly enough, when I gave Grandma the one on the right, she had it in an asparagus and garlicky noodle stirfry. Jinx!
We could kill vampires with our breath here people.
If you haven't checked out your local market yet I totally recommend it. At ours we have everything from meat and eggs, to bread and milk, and wide selection of veggies and art. We even have cheese! You can basically fill your fridge with local produce. It's super easy to be a Locavore here.
