New Beginnings part 51
Masaki sank down into the arms of his…Friend breathing in the warmth of his body. Unfamiliar tears burned in his eyes and he let out a shuddering kind of breath with tore at his lungs. He had never cried for his lot in life before, it was self-pitying when it hadn’t really been all that bad. Jun had looked after him for the most part even when he had been strung out of his drug of choice that day but now…Now there was just tears and they wouldn’t stop. The more he cried the tighter Sho held him until they were falling into a heap in the middle of the living room floor his head slumped awkwardly against Sho’s chest ad his eyes growing heavy as a wave of tiredness moved throughout his system.
“…Masaki…Are you tired?” Sho asked gently when his crying had stopped for more than five minutes and Masaki nodded weakly blinking through his painfully itchy eyes as his bottom lip trembled again. “Then let me get you a drink and then you can head to bed for a bit…”
“Don’t you hate me?” Masaki whispered his voice shaking at the gentle suggestion that Sho had whispered in his ears and he couldn’t deny that it made him happy if a little nervous. Sho pulled out of his grip and cupped his face with both hands his thumbs moving under each eye, gently wiping away the tears before he said in a softly honest voice;
“…Masaki, you are without the sweetest and kindest man that I have ever met…Your past is your own just as mine is…” Masaki nodded slowly and very weakly his eyes moving over Sho’s face trying to read the expression in his face a lot long. “You did what you had to and nothing can make me hate you…What I can’t understand is why you don’t hate me…”
“…I do…a little bit Sho-chan…” He said unable to deny it as the anger was still bubbling away inside of him and this time it was Sho who gave a nod and Masaki swallowed deeply a lump crawling its way down through the back of his throat before whispering “But…Nino told me that you were nice to him…That you cared about him…”
“…He helped me through a messy break-up…” Sho told him and Masaki was deeply surprised to hear that wondering who the hell would break-up with Sho. Even with the revelation that he had been sleeping with Nino he was, in his opinion, something deeply incredible even if he was a little grumpy at times. Sho let out a long sigh and then brushed his fingers through his hair causing it to ruffle around his face “...I should have taken better care of him…”
“…It’s never too late for you to start…Though…I very much doubt that Nino would want you to take care of him…” Masaki chuckled wetly feeling at though he was close to crying again as he remembered Nino as his little but powerful speech that had been so completely heartfelt that it had almost hurt him “…I learnt tonight that he can be very stubborn and get every angry when he thinks people are treating him like he’s a child…”
“I can imagine…I’m so sorry Masaki…I wish…I wish that I could change it…”
“I don’t…Like I said, I’m angry…But what Nino said made sense…You could have given some money and sent him on his way and never heard from him again…Then he could have met somebody else and ended up in a ditch somewhere…” Masaki swallowed as that version swam throughout his mind choking him again for a few moments “This way…At least he is here now and we can start again from here…”
“A new beginning?”
“That sounds about right…” Masaki nodded holding up his pinkie and linking it with Sho’s “This is our new beginning…”
