I (finally) watched the penultimate episode of The Walking Dead this weekend. And all of a sudden, it was like - wait. Is that the Hatch? And is that Desmond in the Swan Station? Last weekend, Emma and I saw Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows (Part I) on our big date night. We saw it on opening weekend, got their in time to watch the previews (one of my favorite things about the movies, even though I can watch them all online now), and then go out to dinner after 9pm. Emma called me and told me today just to make sure I read this article about Buena Park High School's football team (where she teaches), and told me to have a box of tissues at the ready. And she was right! (Okay, I didn't actually cry, but I did tear up a little.)

Friday, I went to prom with Emma, and helped check kids in at the door. We passed out "No Freaking" bracelets. It was kind of awesome, except the night club the prom was at got the food orders mixed up, and thought they were only supposed to have dessert, so when 300+ hungry teenagers showed up expecting dinner, they had to hustle in the kitchen. Today is Emma's birthday, and thus we enter the six months of the year when she stops referring to me as an old man. (In September, I miraculously become ancient for six months. It's a strange cycle.)

Emma expected yesterday's post to finally be about Father's Day and was disappointed that it wasn't. It's not because Father's Day was bad. Truthfully, Father's Day was so great, I have a hard time figuring out how to put it into words.

Emma started work again today. Crazy. I got up early to try and get some writing done, which was good. Unfortunately, the kids decided to get up early, too, which wasn't good. I expect the whole family will be very, very tired tonight.
