A Couple Thoughts on The Walking Dead, Which I Haven't Actually Finished Watching

Jan 10, 2011 12:55

I (finally) watched the penultimate episode of The Walking Dead this weekend. And all of a sudden, it was like - wait. Is that the Hatch? And is that Desmond in the Swan Station? Except...neither of these things in The Walking Dead are as cool as Desmond or the Hatch. I still need to watch the last episode of the season, but that seriously bummed me out.

Whether or not it bummed me out because I missed LOST, or because I felt like The Walking Dead lost (heh) something going there when the comics that I've read do so many other cool things, is up for debate.

In other news, I had a seriously great weekend. Emma was out of town (note: this is not why the weekend was great) and I got to hang with the kids and do all kinds of fun things with them. I get to spend every night hanging out with them, of course, but there's a substantial difference when you're taking care of the kids together, as opposed to doing it on your own. And this weekend it was just me and the kids, and we had a blast. This included: going to the park, going to Disneyland, repeatedly leaping over Oliver as he barreled down on me with his tricycle, cross-stitching a purse with Claire (don't get crazy. It was very much a kit kind of thing), and going out to breakfast...okay, going out to breakfast maybe wasn't the best idea. But all in all it was a great weekend.

Also: I'm very happy Emma's back in town.
