It ended up being just Ed, Ryan and I at Kid Koala last night. Kid Koala was amazing as usual. The venue was, meh. It was held at Heaven night club and while it is conducive for a night of dancing and drinking, not the greatest venue. It also felt like it was 'the little club that could.' The decor was mediocre and if you weren't very innovative at design, was decorated like how you would think a night club should be done. The fake orchids on the bar were the best. XD

They also have a VIP area and while I think a good club should have a VIP area...THIS IS OTTAWA. Not LA, NYC or even MTL. There is no real VIP and all you have to do is drop some extra bills to get in. It was silly and made me think "get over yourselves."

Regardless, I felt very out of place because I was there to see Kid Koala (the headliner). Within five minutes of being there I heard three people say something on the lines of "So. Who is this Kid Koala kid?" :| You definitely could easily tell who was there to enjoy some 'sick beats' and who was there because they wanted to be part of the scene.

On a nifty note, we ran into a bunch of friends from HS that I hadn't seen since then. The best was running into my friend Martin who was a good friend in HS. Nice to have them see me 80 lbs lighter and a little (a lot) less self-hating. :)

In birdy news, Pacha has fallen hopelessly in love with Buttercup so he is pretty useless. He makes a lot of happy noises which is good. I am trying to get him use to me but he is still a little stunned. He will eat from my hand but I don't think I will be able to teach him any tricks. I hope he might talk some day but I am really not sure how to make it happen (I repeat the same phrases over and over and over. I am sure my roomates think I am insane).

Buttercup also isn't seeking out my attention anymore because she has Pacha. Figured that might happen. She still sits on and eats from my hand but she wont come poke my nose anymore. :( Buttercup also taught Pacha that she has her cage and he has his. She pecks at him if he tries to enter the Buttercup zone.

Mostly they just like sitting on the curtain rods and look at me. I am sure I could make them more dependent on me if I clipped their wings but I don't have the heart to do that now. :(
