I have decided that there is SO MUCH idiocy on LJ, I will commence writing more entries. Perhaps short entries, perhaps poorly written entries, but hopefully a voice of saneness and nonbrain gouging opinions. I'll probably just give updates about my life, which I haven't done in awhile. Writing is also much more productuve for my brain than sitting and playing KOL, or frantically wandering the internet for something, anything to do other than my work.
Actually, I do have a topic of mild interest. Reading and writing about A Clockwork Orange opened the intriguing questions of how valid an author's viewpoint on his own work is. As many of you know, the last chapter of A Clockwork Orange did not make it to the American edition until about twenty years later. Stanley Kubrick, who presumably knew about the last chapter, chose not to include it in his movie. Many people in my lit class felt the last chapter sort of cheapened the book, and Burgess's concept of free will. Alex just growing up and moving on... how is that free will? Seems like followig biological urges, a sort of secular predestination.
Anyway. We'll see if I can keep this up. Consider it a late March resolution. I hope you'll appreicate the increase in your friends' page. Mine always seems so barren, :sniffle: Except when Bridget is drunk and Maura is stressed, :snigger:
