Random spring picspam: birds & stuff, part 2/2

May 13, 2013 19:30

Here's the other part of Sunday's walk's picspam. If the first part was mostly songbirds / park stuff, then this is all seaside.

Cut for the pics. )

Oooh! Even more tricky to pick out a favourite than with the first part of birdie picspam. There's the swans (especially the one chasing another), the hovering black-headed gull, the busy little wagtail, spot the female eider (took two tries to find her, she's well camouflaged)... can't pick out a overall favourite from those.

The eider is easier to see on the bigger version. But yes - I only saw her when I was looking through the pics at home, too!

Wow. Swans in action pics are amazing. They're such beautiful animals...though perhaps not always with the most placid tempers... ;-)

Hope you've been well.

I wouldn't have wanted one chase after me like that, no!

Thanks. I've been better, but eh.

The busy little wagtail! *adores*

And that coquettish female mallard; and the preening sparrow on those beautiful rocks, and the jackdaw who's been in a fight.

Pretty!

I think this may well be the best wagtail picture I've got. They're usually so incredibly fast that I can never get a really good shot.

You can definitely see it's spring here, with romance in the air, just by the way all the birds are acting. :D

I did! There were a lot of birds around, which helped. :D

My favourites are busy wagtail and old crow. I always love seeing birds' wings outstretched, too - they're so beautiful.

Birds' wings are amazing, truly.

I really like crows. Jackdaws, too, but crows carry themselves with such intelligence, really.
