OK, So I'm not getting this more-than-once-a-month posting thing...

Contrary to what you may believe, I miss you when I'm not writing...So here I am for May (hopefully not for the last time).
All sorts of STUFFFFFF!
Tonight I'm rather excited because Becky returned the favor from 2007 when I brought her with me to the Pirates of the Caribbean "Ultimate Fan Event" in Cherry Hill, NJ... she arranged for free screening passes for PotC: On Stranger Tides for she and Pat and I at 8:30pm. Woo hoo! (I mean... Yarrrrr!)
The UPside has been doing well lately, if not making tons of money, as hoped. LOL. We've had 2 seriously successful gigs in the last 3 weeks, and we have 3 exciting gigs in one weekend coming up the next time we play out (June 10, 11, 12)! The good thing about those gigs are that they are all at non-smoking bars or outdoors, and local to King of Prussia, so I won't be TOTALLY dead... I hope. We'll see how it plays out, but hopefully a little spending money will come from that as well.
This weekend, Aimee's older sister gets married, and she's doing it VEGAS-STYLE... So I'm wearing my famous/infamous silver dress from the Doc Savage LARP and glamming it up a bit. I'm pretty excited for that. It should be a lovely wedding... and a great party!
Of course NEXT weekend is our 3 day weekend at Steampunk World's Fair in New Jersey. I'm very much looking forward to it this year, as we have Aimee & Neall and Megan and Tori all coming out with us (and bunking in the same room), and a pile of Pat's friends are attending--and hopefully some of the excellent people we met last year will be there as well. I have been adding steamy outfits right and left since my original two ideas came together... So hopefully I'll have pics from two dressy/formal outfits and two "casual" outfits... I mean... there ARE three days of Steampunking to be done, including Friday afternoon and evening! Very excited. It should be a fun event... I will be pimping Bunny's hat business "Green Bunny Hats" and I'm DETERMINED not to miss Professor Elemental this year!
Memorial Day weekend is CROGfest this year... Cordelia is turning 3 and she is "hosting" a Steampunk "Cordelia's Parlour" event for her birthday... So that should be another wonderful event to look forward to being with friends (and looking fabulous)!
In other news... I have been feeling really awful about my exercise habits (or rather, lack thereof) for some time now. Even the last time I tried to get back into it at the beginning of this year, I failed... rather spectacularly. So last night I sat down (with Pat!) to plan out a schedule for BOTH OF US for the next month and a half of exercising. I'm proud of us. Now we BOTH have to stick to it. *crosses fingers* It is always nice to have your goals printed out right in front of you (with a RED MARKER to check off successful exercise days). Hopefully if I keep it up, he will too. I'm waiting for his report back later on today. As for me? I started this morning. Got my ass out of bed and up and about at 7am (I can't COMPLAIN, based on most peoples' work schedules!), and I did 20 min of Cardio and 20 min of abs. I'm feeling good, and I hope it lasts.
NO MORE PUDGE ALLOWED. SEXY MUSCLE ONLY up in this place!
Also... as far as motivation and goals? I have one SPECIFIC one... Later this Summer, the Forge Theatre will be holding auditions for 'Cabaret.' This is one of my favorite shows that I've NEVER been in before. I had a chance back in college and went to auditions, but I was obligated to another show (that I HATED, and REGRETTED DOING). When they called me back about it, they said they would have DEFINITELY cast me as a Cabaret Girl if I hadn't been otherwise committed to another show, but they ultimately decided against working with my scheduling difficulties... *Groan*
So... 'Sally Bowles' or a Cabaret girl... I don't need the lead, this is simply a show I MUST be in. I know I have the singing & dancing chops to make it in, but I want to have the bod too. I remember how good it felt when I felt seriously confident and comfortable performing onstage in skimpy costumes last fall for Rocky Horror Show... But I have fallen off of the wagon since then, and it's time to tone up again. I want my arms & abs back, and I want them to look at me while I sing and dance at auditions and all but cast me on the spot. /self-confidence
Eating better. Planning things with Pat will be nice if we can both keep it up. I'm trying to be encouraging for him without pushing. We like healthy meals, we just have to be able to afford it. Working on that part. heh.
So that's the update for now. Hope to have more frequent, happy, excited updates to share in future.
