And HOW did the train graveyard not get flattened when the plate came down?!?

That would be the 250,000 gil question.

... My guess is that it was far enough away from the 'main' area.

... but still.

the plate is in pizza-sized chunks. there's no way in hell that the pillar support being THAT CLOSE to the graveyard and corneo's mansion being just adjacent that it didn't get crushed. you can even see the fucking ripped edges when you aim up.

just another squeenix plothole.

This is quite true (I had to pause the game and gibber at it many times for random wtf?) - just pondering on THEIR logic - the whole place seems larger than what was shown before.
On that thread - quite a bit of the plate came down after Meteor anyway - a lot of things that shouldn't be there still are.
I call Divine Intervention.
Though ... If Squeenix keeps this up, the FFVII-verse is going to turn into a black plot hole.

I offer my strategy for DoC Plot-Holes:
Vincent's ass+leather=*distraction*

In spite of them talking about reaching the "upper plate", you don't see evidence that much of said upper plate still exsists except for the Tower (and although it's in better shape than it should have been, it's still pretty bad). The plate you see when you head into Deepground is what was built over one of the towns that Shinra built Midgar over--it's actually the slums above your head, not the upper plate ( ... )

That's easy...through the power of the plothole. SE excels at using that. ;)

Like I say up there *points* pretty soon it's gonna be a Black-Plot-Hole.

And then ChronoTrigger will fall out of it, and after that, FFX.

... and then they will all live in Time Kompression.

... I need more coffee.

It's the ghost of the graveyard?

I think that's probably the most logical, non-"plothole" explanation yet. ;)

well OBVIOUSLY the WRO rebuilt it so everything would be just like it was before. there used to be a bunch of malfunctioning machinery here, now there is again. WE'LL REBUILD THE SLUMS TO BE THE SLUMS AGAIN YAAAAAAAAY

shoot me.
