It got dark, but I finished the chemisette!

And I'm working on the bonnet veil :)

I got the chemisette to the try on point and it looked awful. I compared it to the existing one and the neck was about three inches bigger.  Oops.

So I cut the neck down, and it's too small.

I had thought about just making a ruff and adding it to the existing chemisette. Now that seems like a very good idea!

I finished the apron, patched the  underarms on my Regency shift, moved the straps  on my strapped petticoat, and took a pattern of my chemisette to make  a new one.

I've worn the strapped petticoat many times,  but somehow didn't notice that the straps went under my armpits.  I guess that solves the mystery of what layer was cutting into my ( Read more... )
