More y!gallery rantng
And yet another y! rant. I really need to get a life... well, not really.. I do more than just hang around y!gallery... but most of the stuff that pisses me off enough to want to write about it happens there.
Over the last few days I have caught FOUR people getting new accounts to bypass a suspension on their original account. For TWO of them it was a second offence that resulted in them being permabanned from y!gallery.
The worst of it was last night really. I don't know if I'm on official record as the one that caught this chick because I PMed a mod, but a different mod took care of it. So maybe someone else reported it as well. I haven't a clue. Either way... I caught this person... technically... before anyone else did. I'm pretty damned sure of that. Sometimes I just.. know things. I'm not insane... I'm not exactly psychic... I just... know things sometimes...
Anyway. The story. Yesterday I got online, did my thing... at some point during the night (not sure what time) I found an underage user who was actually a dupe account, but I wasn't aware of it at that time... I reported her, she was suspended... end of story right? No........ about... I think it was five or six-ish in the morning, my time, I saw a new user with a very similar name to the one that had been suspended a few hours earlier. Namely the name of her newest account was the same as one of the IMs she had listed on the account suspended a few hours earlier. To be safe and doubly sure I ran her IM again... and that's when I noticed a link to her ORIGINAL account that I had missed before. Yes.. I ran her again because something told me I'd missed something important before... :P
I spent a little while waiting for a mod to come online, but it was one of those early, early times that mods... typically aren't on at. Finally I got fed up waiting for a mod to come online and PMed Sianne about it.
I'm pretty impatient when it comes to people who have gotten duplicate accounts... ESPECIALLY if they are getting them to get around a suspension for being underage.
Y!gallery is a kickass site and I'm very protective of it.
