Uh...that's still on fire

I've been concentrating so much on my newest blog, I rarely update here anymore. Alas, this journal is really important to me, so update I must...

This past weekend was a blast; a "Winter Blast" to be more precise. Actually, it started last Thursday when I went out to dinner with Curly Sue and Twin. We just had a cute girls' night out, eating pretty decent food (including a dessert by the name Campfire Crunch) and laughing about everything. We decided to try to make that a weekly thing. I reluctantly agreed, sighting the fact that Thursday nights are Must See TV on NBC. I guess I'll hang out with human beings instead of my tv.

I worked Friday night at the restaurant. Nothing too interesting there except that I still love (read: hate) when people ask for something outside of the realm of possibility and then when I indicate that the aforementioned request cannot be fulfilled their reply is always "Seriously?!"  Then I just wanna say "What?! Pfffft! No! I was just kidding. Rules are for everyone but you."  A-holes.

Saturday went kinda like this:
7am - Woke up. Slowly convinced myself to get out of bed.
8:30am - Arrived at volunteer site late.
10am - Finishing up volunteering. Listening to story about one of the many children we were helping to feed by packaging food. Thinking "Are my eyes wet? What is this?"
11am - Arrived at the 'rents house. Empty except for the ol' lady. Showed her my new car. Mild enthusiasm ensued.
12pm - Met up with Ross. She and I bundled up like we were going to Alaska instead of the city.
12:30-2pm - Ice skating, marshmallow roasting (& s'more making), day drinking, and more eating with Ross.
2-6:30pm - First 1.5hrs spent waiting to be seated at Slows. The wait was well worth it. Ross & I had an eating competition. We both won.
6:30-7pm - Sincere regret for that eating competition. Sincere regret.
7-9pm - Shooting the poo with the 'rents. General nonsense as usual.
9-10pm - On the fence about going out on the town due to the long day that had just transpired. Got my act together and drove to Curly Sue's.
11pm-1am - Scoping out guys at cool bar/restaurant. Curly Sue and my sentiments: "Why have we never been here before? We're definitely coming back."
1-1:15am - Curly Sue and my sentiments: "Oh...it's because of people like that guy who kept humping us and whatnot."
1:15-2:15am - Ate (even though I swore off food for a week after the gluttony that took place at Slows) at National Coney. Mediocre. AND we got kicked out of our booth by the staff who apparently didn't think we were moving fast enough, spurring me to create a new adjective meaning stupid and/or inconsiderate, "coney". Ex: "You picked up a pizza with everything on it that I don't like? Well, that's a real coney thing to do to your wife."
2:15-3am - Dropped Curly Sue at her place and drove back to mine, half-asleep. Dangerous, I know.
3:15am - Asleep before my head hit the pillow.

Sunday, I had little to no motivation to do anything but text all morning. I only managed to get myself out of my apartment to hang out with The Patriot. We met up at a cute little chocolate shoppe on Main Street. He got me a gift for "restoring [his] faith in women". Dang. That's pretty serious business. It was a rustic book on Forensic Psychiatry, my area of interest. So. Cute. Pretty quickly after that, we were verbally ambushed by some random geezer eating ice cream with his wife. Probably not a good idea to expound on a topic like affirmative action to a mixed-race couple of people. However, I guess it's hard to observe the taboo when you're crazypants. It reminded me of this girl:

Hilarious, but sad.

Everything was cool after that. Although I get a little bit of joy everytime I'm talking to The Patriot at the restaurant and Pippin walks by as I'm laughing charmingly while tossing my hair, I feel like I need to go ahead and pump the brakes on this before it's too far gone. I'm entirely sure, after doing this for years upon years, that these little situations are my fault. I'm the common factor in all of them, so maybe I need to change what I'm doing 'cause it ain't workin'.

Now...that oughta set me straight!

Monday (insert big groan here) was extremely busy at the restaurant, what with it being Valen***** Day. It's beyond me...I don't even wanna talk about it. I'm just happy that it's over. The other hostess had a cough and refused to not infect me with her germs. A move I'm certain I'm feeling the effects of at this very moment. AND that was probably the last time I'll see Pippin. We had a strange moment when I first walked in where he complimented my shoes, I said thanks and turned my head to look at the schedule, and suddenly felt an arm around my shoulders, looked back and found Pippin, grinning and squeezing. WTF, bipolar. Whatever.

So, that's that. Since then it has just been work, sleep, and more work. Here's to making it to the end of the week without getting sick ; )

dessert, valen***** day, this is how every weekend should be, overeating, crazypants, gifts, pump the breaks, ice skating, must see tv, s'mores, hair toss
