In 2010 I want to:

Finish a marathon in less than 5 hours!
Weigh 140 pounds!

I have the marathon training all mapped out. The weight part...not as much. I know if I measure and keep track of all my food, I eat better and lose weight. But, I don't know how to maintain motivation in that arena, sometimes. Here's to trying in 2010!!!

Went for the planned run today after a week of not running (too cold). I did .5 less than I intended, and at a slower pace. Sigh. Part of me says, "At least I got out there!" But I wish I had been more up to the challenge ( Read more... )

In an effort to be true to my goal, I searched out a list of HFCS containing food items.  A lot of the things on this list are irrelevant as I can't get them here anyways, but there are a few things that I eat all the time, or at least from time to time, which I'll now be cutting out.

I successfully stopped consuming things like nutrasweet, splenda, etc. over the last year or so (I started before Christmas, but I can't remember exactly when).  Next on the list of things to eradicate from my diet is high fructose corn syrup.  I got to thinking the other day, I stopped consuming "artificial sweeteners" and, really, HFCS is as ( Read more... )

I was just looking over my running log and realized that there are 6 weeks left of this year (+1 day), and I have already run 403.7 miles.  I think it'd be nice to have a nice even number of 500 miles for the year.  In terms of the math, that means about 16 miles per week.  Totally doable, right?  If real life didn't interrupt, that is.  So, even ( Read more... )
