So at the fireworks last night we thought it was starting to rain, but it turned out to be pieces of ash falling from the explosions that blew nearly above us. A two-inch shred of burst cardboard hit me in the shoulder. And a couple of the streaming waterfall-looking combustions appeared to almost reach back down to the ground where they shot them off, before fizzling out. Methinks it a good thing the fire department stood on hand, though nothing on the ground ignited.
Hmm. On the other hand, it's probably just as dangerous to set off the little fireworks in our front yard, like we're going to do on wednesday. I'll bet the smoke won't be doing anything good for the air either.
Do you feel patriotic?
