Takaki Yuya

Q:What time did you get up today?
10:20 in the morning. My wake up time changes according to work, so everyday it’s different.
Even though my alarm went off at 10 today, I ended up setting it again in order to get 20 more minutes of sleep (laughs)

Q:What was the first thing you did when you got up this morning?
I turned off my phone’s alarm. Then right away, I shower and dry up my hair after that. 20 minutes later, I left my house.

Q: Do you wake up well, or bad?
Pretty well I think! I do wake up on my own after all (laughs) Especially when it comes to traveling, rather than surprising myself, being able to wake up is pretty good. When I stay over at a ryokan (traditional Japanese hotel), in order to relax inside a hot bath before breakfast time, I wake up early. My eyes open up wide!

Q: Bedding Obsession
I use two big and different pillows. Unlike with small ones, if I use big pillows, I can rest my arms on them when I flip them sideways. For example, If I sleep on my right side, I can use it to rest my body on it. That’s why I’m also pretty obsessed with where I sleep. There are situations where I end up sleeping on a normal bed, or spreading a futon over my bed. There are cases where I’ve fallen asleep on the sofa (laughs)

Q: The clothes you wear when you sleep
Underwear. If I wear sweatpants, I end up taking them off. My posture during sleep switches between face up and on the side. According to my friends, when I was sleeping beside one of them, even though I was facing their back from the start, sometime while I slept, my position changed and I ended up sticking up against my friend. It was like, I was hugging (laughs) when I sleep alone, basically, my sleeping posture gets bad to the point where I fall below the bed sometimes.

Q: Something new you started recently
I’ve begun to thoroughly clean. It’s like there’s a part of me that likes to clean. If water spills, I’ll wipe it right away or if something is not in its position, then I’ll but it back right away. I always plan on keeping my home’s interior clean. My friends would come over, and right after they leave, the feeling of “Yosh! Cleaning time, Start!” settles in and I clean. I really don’t dislike tidying up.

Q: What’s something you want to start from now on?
I want to be able to cook. I want to be able to cook up anything for my friends for any occasion. It’s not good if I can only make simple dishes. Cooking rice, frying fish and even making miso soup. Well, I’d be really happy if I could make one of my favorite dishes, nikujaga.

Q: Something you’ve quit recently or want to quit
I quit games. From the start, there were people who really didn’t play them but now I really don’t want to play them. I don’t know the reason why, but maybe it might be because the time I spend watching tv has increased from before. I record a lot of variety programs and have fun watching them.

Q: When you start something new, what do you keep in mind?
If I can, I think of talking to lots of different people. At the first meeting with them, we gradually talk more and more. After all, I want to learn more about the person I’m talking to.

Q: On April 13th, concerts will begin. What’s something you want to challenge?
I want to challenge doing a short comical play. I want to add a funny part to it!
