Q:What time did you get up today?
At 9am. It’s always more or so late. Normally, I naturally open my eyes around 7am. It might be because I’ve been heading to bed around 12am recently. I’m starting to live like an old man (laughs)
Q:What was the first thing you did when you got up this morning?
I took a shower. The hot water temperature might have been around 40C degrees. For breakfast, I had quail eggs with fried meat and vegetables. I admire my mother who’s up doing work since morning, frying up breakfast.
Q: Do you wake up well, or bad?
Good. Before I go out, I’m usually good. The other day, during the time we had work in Thailand, Dai-chan, who’s bad at waking up came over to me and said “If I oversleep, I'll be troubled later so wake me up~”. Then he crawled into my bed!
Q: Bedding Obsession
There’s nothing I really obsess about when it comes to bedding. My mom buys my sheets but if there was to be some other bedding then I’d pick it myself. Both my futon and pillow are pure white. My bed is a semi-double and I have about 3 pillows. This isn’t bedding, but I turn on an aroma diffuser every single day.
Q: The clothes you wear when you sleep
There are times when I wear pajamas, but yesterday it was a jersey. My body ends up face up. I pull the futon all the way up to my shoulders and once I close my eyes, I end up falling asleep right away. By the way, I sleep with the lights on.
Q: Something new you started recently
There hasn’t been anything recently. About half a year ago, I started appreciating DVDs a lot. Particularly movies and dramas from abroad. I’ll rent them all randomly so some end up being a success and others a miss…One that left an impression on me was “Navy Seals”. It’s a movie portraying special military activities, but, the cast, they’re not actors; they’re actual soldiers. There was a discussion about how realistic their acting was. I was surprised that there’s a world like that out there.
Q: What's something you want to start from now on?
Scuba diving is something I've continuously brought up for who knows how many years...("Diving in Cuba?"-Chinen) What the heck! Well, I really don't know what ocean I should go diving to. (crying while smiling)
Q: Something you’ve quit recently or want to quit
I want to stop creating ill-feelings (laughs)
I have a sharp tongue~ There are times I can express love, but, it’s because there are people who don’t understand my jokes. I’ll be more careful.
Q: When you start something new, what do you keep in mind?
Treasuring feelings of nervousness. When I think “What should I do if I mess up?” rather than being a nervous thoughts, it’s more of a worry. Instead I think now, “It’s okay if you mess up, just do it!” If I can turn those feelings into motivation then I’ll somehow get through it.
Q: On April 13th, concerts will begin. What’s something you want to challenge?
Making free use of the imaging on the screen. I’ve never gotten to plan up to there for the concert staging.
Later on, throughout the tour, Chinen will be the only member left that will be turning 20, it’d be nice if he got that fresh, adult appeal.
