Scary Clones
After I discovered the whole repr0b8 versus reprob8 thing I had to investigate my own name to make sure there wasn't someone scary out there with whom I could be mistaken.
When I joined LJ, I really wanted either of koala or koalabear. At the time, both names were taken and I was extremely miffed about that and ended up with no choice but to choose koalathebear which I personally find a little embarrassing. The whole 'the' bear makes me sound a little arrogant as though there should be an introductory drum roll before my name or something. There are also bad associations to Humphrey the Bear a really bad children's television show in Australia.
Today I checked. Someone named koalabear is still in existence but he/she, from what I can see is not making use of his/her journal at all!! I looked up koala and found these sad words:

This journal has been deleted and purged.
Wow, 'deleted and purged' sounds so ... final. Not that I could change user names at this late stage anyway but it was a funny thing to notice.
