Passchendaele looks really interesting

I am obtaining a copy of the Canadian movie Passchendaele that looks really, really interesting.

1. It is directed by and stars Canadian actor Paul Gross from Due South.
2. It also stars Caroline Dhavernas from Wonderfalls.

Too much gorgeousness and talent in the same movie! :)

The trailer is here and it looks epic, and melodramatic and romantic and Canadian. :D Also, is Alliance the only movie/tv company that Canada has? :D

Blurb #1: The lives of a troubled veteran, his nurse girlfriend and a naive boy intersect first in Alberta and then in Belgium during the bloody World War I battle of Passchendaele.

Blurb #2: Passchendaele is a 2008 Canadian war film from Alliance Films, written, directed by and starring Paul Gross. The film, which was shot in Calgary, Alberta, Fort Macleod, Alberta, CFB Suffield, and in Belgium, focuses on the experiences of Gross's grandfather, Michael Dunne, a soldier who served in the 10th Battalion, CEF in the First World War at the Battle of Passchendaele (also known as the Third Battle of Ypres). The film opened at the Toronto International Film Festival on September 4, 2008 and was released in Canada on October 17, 2008.

Cool.

It's kind of like a Canadian Gallipoli :)

Also, for anyone in the same timezone - Merry, Merry Christmas!!!! :)
