SGA McShep Recs
Well, as usual, Sardonicsmiley is breaking out the quality fic like a mad woman! She teamed up with
sherriaisling to write Through the Noise To the Sea. Its just...how can I describe it....lovable on epic levels. This story is sweetly McShep with an added bonus of Rodney....as a merman! He clicks, he whistles. I just can't say enough about this. The story length is medium for me, but its just one big love fest for me to read. Rodney having some sort of ability or Rodney being physically different from the others on Atlantis is a big thing for me. If that sort of thing does it for you then go read this story. There's hurt/comfort, angst, lovely smushiness, romance, and alien-merman!Rodney. Go. Read it. Now. Oh, and I'd love a sequel to this one SO much I can't tell you enough.
Also, I've been seeing this story in other rec posts for a long time, but Animal Husbandry by
casspeach finally seeped into my brainpan. Its a McShep that I seriously thought from the description meant it took place in the old west. Not that I was disappointed, but I'd already had this picture in my head of Rodney...and chaps. I digress. John's a sort of hard on his luck ranchhand/bull rider/horseman that wants his own horse ranch. Rodney's the vet that helps him out. Lurve ensues. I will tell you that there is one thing in the story (of which I can't tell 'cause it would ruin the story) that gets mentioned and then not followed through with that I was so sure would be. Its a good read, though, so please do. As you already know, AU in a big way with more mental hurt/comfort than anything, but boo boos do happen with a sweet ending.
