Bannination

Hey y'all,

When we say "don't stir up shit in other communities", we mean don't stir up shit in other communities. When shit stirring happens, there's generally a spike in membership requests here (yesterday, up 700% from each day the previous week or two) and then one of us mods has to track things down and ban people. Also, if you're going to ( Read more... )

Maybe I'm just getting old, but the comment about the line being from The Office made me sprain my eyeballs. Much like when a teenybopper that I worked with heard the original version of Faith and asked who did the crappy cover of the Limp Bizkit song.

Right after Johny Cash died, the radio station here played a ton of his alternative covers. My boyfriend at the time asked me if JC was a guy who just did covers of popular songs. I went off the rails and called and bitched out the radio station. They play at least 3 original JC songs now.

The worst part about that was the designer was in his late 30s. This season of PR has way too many 38 year olds who act like they're 22.

He is NOT too old to know Sgt Pepper! But he does seem to be culturally lacking.

I can understand not knowing something about music 20 years before your time, but 10 years?

He is NOT too old to know Sgt Pepper

I can't comprehend someone born and raised in the US not knowing about what is probably one of the best-known albums of one of the most well-known rock bands of the last century, if you're any older than about...oh, I'll say five years old.

But then, we had nearly every Beatles LP and I knew the words to "Lucy in the Sky" before I could remember the whole Pledge of Allegiance, and that "Hey Jude" wasn't something Stephen King made up for the Dark Tower novels, so maybe I'm somewhat biased on the topic.

Nope, not biased at all. I knew who they were and I grew up on 'Puff, the magic Dragon'.

Even my ten year old knows who the Bettles (sp?) are.

It was Blayne who said that, and he's 23. Still should have know who Sgt Pepper was, though.

Yep - it gave me one more reason to not like Blayne.

My list is EPIC.

The only one that really stands out as creative and professional is Terri, followed closely by Kotto. All the white girls blend together (except for Stella, and she's INSANE), and Joe is the only sane guy.

Mmyeah. Disappointed in this season.

Stella Debbie Downer.

This is the worst season so far. Everyone's so bitchy, and the overall talent level seems lower than the past couple of seasons.

But he did know who the Beatles were, or at least he yammered something to compensate for his gaffe.

He liked beatles.. when they were done by other people. *rolleyes*

Ugh. Being young is no excuse for being that stupid.

(Then again, at my internship a few years ago, I was the only intern who knew who Don Henley was...or the Eagles.)
