An Unexpected Party!
Most of you guessed who it was that turned up at my house for Yule and made himself feel right at home!
KnittedSam made KnittedFrodo feel right at home (my home that is) by tending to his every need.
Although I rather wish KnittedFrodo hadn't taken up knittedpippin's offer to help him to jam. KnittedFrodo has obviously forgotten what a muddle knittedpippin gets into doing that!
The same thing with roasting chestnuts, surely KnittedFrodo hasn't forgotten the whole singed-wool-had-to-be-darned incident already! Although it's quite handy having KnittedSam to fetch the coal and be generally useful. It does save llinos a bit of bother.
I was pleased that KnittedFrodo spent some time trying to improve knittedpippin's reading skills.
Although I felt it incumbent upon me to point out that it's possible to have too much of a good thing!
And it was nice to see knittedpippin so excited at having someone other than me to talk to.
Yes - it really was!
But I didn't want knittedpippin getting over-excited - not just before the Yule Feast! llinos just said, "You're jealous!" But then she's an idiot and doesn't understand these things!
I decided that what we really needed was a group photograph as I know how much KnittedCousinFrodo likes having his picture taken - especially with Moi! But then, who wouldn't?
Then it was time for the Feast!
I couldn't believe that knittedpippin was still talking! I mean - with all that food to be eaten - we'll never get finished! KnittedCousinFrodo is proving to be a little bit of a bad influence!
Especially as he has to turn round every time he hears the camera switch on!
I'm not suggesting he's vain, but really!
Still, after several hours of serious eating, we were all quite full and had a nice Knittedhobbity cuddle in front of the fire and told stories, drank ale and filled up the corners into the night.
Then, today, as it's the Last of Yule, I was taking down the White Tree and knittedpippin threw a tantrum and cried because I was putting Yule away! He wanted to keep it all year and then KnittedCousinFrodo wouldn't go away!
So KnittedCousinFrodo said he would stay a little longer and that knittedpippin could keep all the candy canes off the white tree.
Now llinos will have to buy some new ones next year. But she just said, "Fine - you shouldn't keep them past their sell-by date anyway." Huh! Why is everyone against me? Are they trying to spoil knittedpippin just to upset me - or am I being paranoid? llinos said "Paranoid - totally - and jealous!"
But knittedpippin just laughed and told me to cheer up and wasn't it wonderful that KnittedCousinFrodo and KnittedSam were staying longer?
