books read:
little brother, cory doctorow:  a very good teen novel about civil liberties and the internet.  a little too dogmatic, but otherwise pitch perfect.  i have three read with reccomendations here:  After, if you liked the post 9-11 civil rights protest stuff; cryptonomicon if you liked the geeky bits; atlas shrugged if the careening into didacticism did it for you

what sports tell us about life, ed smith: essays about sport that are at time revealing, and at other times a rehash of other people's work.  plus, he doesn't really understand american sports all that  well, and is clearly writing for an english audience.  that said, i liked learning about cricket.  that's the next Xbox game i want.  read with the housekeeping vs. the dirt, the book that led me here.
