So I finished reading Chaim Potok's The Chosen last night and was so terribly disappointed that I still feel the need to vent a bit. Everyone I talked to LOVES this book, so I read it. When I was in college, I took the full American Lit series with one of the best profs I've ever had, period. Bill is ... snark, pure and simple.

The only real problem with Bill is that he knows his poets, and he expected us to know them, too. He whipped out Ginsberg one day - "Howl" if I remember correctly - and I was scared out of my mind. God.
