The downspout is properly attached.
I removed the "temporary" (two years now) braces I tacked up to keep Cat3 from pushing out the kitchen window screens, and caulked the nail holes. Didn't paint the caulk, but that whole area will be getting painted in the spring anyway (never did get the last of the green done there, when we painted the whole house).
I did paint the caulk on the deckside window frame, so it's now all properly green. There's no real practical benefit to this, the caulk's quite weatherproof unpainted, but it means I won't be seeing unpainted caulk every single time I look out the sliding door or my bedroom window. The psychological benefit is tremendous.
I made a fair dent on cleaning and putting away the tools. Still plenty to do, and plenty of non-tool clean-up, but it's a good start.
It's been a lovely warm day out so far, actually much nicer than many of the days in which I've done more work. Part of me (not my back, that's for sure) says I should get back out there and try to get the most-needed fence post put in. However, the forecast and the feel of the air both say that it's likely to start seriously raining soon, sooner than I'm likely to get a post-hole dug and concrete mixed. Time for the better part of valor, and besides, I feel pretty good about what I got done. Best to back away quietly.
