Chicago Day 2
Day 2 was a little more eventful than day one. Laura took the day off, so after a lazy morning we headed down town to meet Jenn for lunch. Then we did a little shopping. After shopping we met up with a couple of guys I know from Phoenix who play in the Grant Park Orchestra. We had some pre-concert eats & drinks, then headed to Symphony Center to watch the show. Cathy drove in town and met with us as well. The concert was really great. If you don't know, the Grant Park Orchestra normally performs for free, outdoors at Millennium Park. They are doing a recording project, however, so this weekend's shows were at the hall. The concert was quite good. I was a little skeptical going in b/c I wasn't familiar with the repertoire, but it did not disappoint. I heard an amazing piece that I'm kind of in love with now. After the concert we headed back up to Lincoln Park, picked up Jenn & Laura's b-friend and headed to this wine bar. Very tasty fries and a yummy Spanish Rioja. Then we came home & had a little game time before bed.
