Alternate Energy, Umm....
I think I've figured out how Japan is going to replace the electricity from its troubled nuclear plants. They're going to do really goofy things with the Cthulhu Mythos and then harness the energy generated from H. P. Lovecraft spinning in his grave.
Just watched an episode (on Crunchyroll) of a new anime called Nyarko-san: Another Crawling Chaos. The title character introduces herself saying "I'm the Chaos that always crawls up to you with an smile, Nyarlathotep!"
Oh yeah, HPL would love that. :)
If one can stand the silly (I can, you guys, well...) it's not too bad (as of one episode). At one point when a character observes she should be more horrific (she looks like a schoolgirl) Nyarko-san says "I can look like that but you'd lose sanity" and we're shown a character sheet and a pair of percentile dice. Hmm, should Chaosium be getting money from the producers?
Apparently this is simulcasting sort of, thus it really is a new anime and not one that's been out for two years in Japan and then came over.
Oh, as it turns out Crunchyroll also has some older Flash animation shorts for this. They're, umm, not terribly good actually.
