Well, there have been ups and downs this week - most notable of the downs, me getting all dizzy in a cafe on Wednesday, and having to hold on to the table to stop myself keeling over. Things are getting better...
Sorry about the rantings over the last couple of days: I was really worried about flights and travel insurance and other such important things. But things are better now, as I have booked my ticket, handed over my money (not all of which was actually mine, but never mind), and will receive a phone call soon from the travel agent telling me to ( Read more... ) -

The dangers of furniture restoration!
On Sunday, I was feeling all homely, and it was a pretty day, so I had an attempt at furniture restoration. Well, it wasn't that highbrow really: just an old table mother and I found a while ago, the varnish on which was all peeling and generally sad-looking. I am SO happy that this weekend happened. It nearly didn't happen on multiple occasions, and to be fair, as late as registration yesterday morning I was trying to persuade Ewan that the whole speaking lark was overrated, and that he wanted to judge, thus letting me, as he later put it, 'hide in the judging room ( Read more... )
