Title: The Charm Of An Eye Smile
Pairing: SooFany
Rating: PG/PG-13
Genre: Comedy/Romance/Drama
Summary: All bubbly, cheerful Tiffany wanted to do was be friends with "Bloody Knuckle Sooyoung", the new transfer student with a mysterious and violent past. Two completely different people. But then again, opposites do attract.

----------------------

"Sooyoung no matter what, we ARE going to be friends! And you are going to LIKE IT!" Tiffany  announces with conviction. She winks playfully at Sooyoung.

"I don't need you," Sooyoung says, her voice monotone, her face expressionless.

"Why not?! You're always alone! Don't you want a friend?"

"Not really."

Tiffany was speechless for a moment. Never in her life she has met someone so blunt, so forward.... so brutally honest. And with such an apathetic expression! She has never met someone like Sooyoung before. Tiffany wasn't sure how to win over the new girl, although Tiffany believed in time she will become Sooyoung's friend.

"You know," Tiffany begins. "Everyone says you are the scary bully that's arrived at our school. 'The Bloody Knuckle Sooyoung'! But to be honest you don't seem like a bully at all!" Tiffany quickly glances at Sooyoung from head to toe. "Sure maybe your tall figure can be intimidating to some people and your glare is kind of threatening. But after talking to you these past few minutes, I can tell you're a good person! Also you saved me! That's another example why you are a good person."

Sooyoung frowns. "It's not like I did it to save you. I just really hate girls like them."

"Still! You could of walked away. You could have ignored the whole scene, but you didn't! You came over to them, chased away Jessica and her crew, and you even let me borrow your towel! You can't deny it! I can see right through you! You really are a good person!" Tiffany says confidently, a huge smile on her face.

Sooyoung scowls, unable to think of a good counterargument. Instead she again turns her back against Tiffany and starts to walk away. "Whatever. I'm leaving."

Tiffany quickly goes after her. "Wait! I'll come with you!" She catches up and walks next to Sooyoung.

Sooyoung sighs. "Don't you have anything else better to do?"

"Nope!" The response sounded too happy for Sooyoung's taste.

"Why don't you go ask someone else if they're willing to be your friend?"

"I want YOU to be my friend!"

"What are you? Some elementary school kid? Why does it have to be me?"

Tiffany's face turns serious for the first time during their conversation. "Usually when people say they don't need anyone, in reality, that moment is the moment they really need someone the most. I'm sure you don't enjoy being alone all the time."

Sooyoung shrugs. "It has its perks."

Tiffany suddenly links arms with the taller girl, causing her to flinch. "Don't worry, Sooyoung! I'm going to visit you at least three times a week to ease your loneliness!"

"You're kidding.... right?" Sooyoung grimaces.

"Of course not!"

"Please don't. I prefer eating my meal in peace."

"What's that suppose to mean?" Tiffany pouts.

"You're very loud," Sooyoung puts it bluntly. "Anyways I seriously have to get going."

Tiffany gives in and let's go of Sooyoung's arm. "Okay then! I'll see you tomorrow!" she says cheerfully.

Sooyoung rolls her eyes. "Yeah right... Tomorrow's Saturday you idiot... There's no school on Saturdays..." Sooyoung mutters to herself. She turns around once more to see Tiffany enthusiastically waving her goodbye. She shakes her head, not bothering to say goodbye.

As she watches Sooyoung walk away, Tiffany grins.

"I think that went pretty well if I do say so myself!" she says outloud. "She's slowly opening up to me!"

-------------------

Tiffany quickly meets back with her friends just before lunch was about to end after her separation from Sooyoung

"TIFFANY!!!!" Sunye and Boram wail as they envelope in a group hug upon seeing their friend.

"Whoa! H-Hey! Calm down! What's the matter with you two?!" Tiffany asks.

"They're just relieved you're alive," Soyeon responds, smiling.

"To be honest, I'm happy you're alright as well," Gyuri chuckles.

"Yaaah... I don't see why you guys were so worried. And um Sunye, Boram you guys can let go of me now..." Tiffany says.

Sunye and Boram release Tiffany from their hug. "Sorry about that. But we were honestly worried about you," Sunye says. Boram nods. "Anyway how did the whole Sooyoung encounter go? DID SHE HAVE BLOOD ON HER KNUCKLES!? Sunye adds.

Tiffany takes a step back. "Jeez Sunye you need to calm down! No she didn't. And the encounter went really well, in my opinion anyway."

"So you managed to make her your friend?" Gyuri asks.

"Errr..... not yet. I'm working on it though..."

"Then what happened?"

Tiffany's shoulders sag. "She rejected me. She said she didn't want to be my friend."

Soyeon blinks. "Well I suppose it's better than finding your dead body randomly lying somewhere on campus," she jokes.

"Thanks for the sympathy, Soyeon," Tiffany sulks.

"No problem," Soyeon grins.

"What are you going to do now that she's rejected you?" Boram pipes up.

"I'm going to continue to try to win her over! And I won't stop until she's my friend!" Tiffany says as a matter of factly.

"Uh oh. Tiffany has that sense of determination again," Gyuri whispers to Soyeon.

"You know she is quite the persistant child once she has her mind on something," Soyeon whispers back. "Kind of like how Sunye gets when she finds a really hot guy."

"What about me?" Sunye asks, overhearing her name.

Gyuri and Soyeon smile innocently. "Nothing," they say simultaneously.

------------------

Saturday morning.

The sun was still rising high into the sky, its warm rays radiating over the city. The sounds of birds chirping and the abrupt sound of their wings flapping could be heard almost everywhere.

Choi Sooyoung was still sleeping in her fairly large bed. Only her eyes were visible because the rest of her body was covered by her bedsheets. She was sleeping peacefully.

"Sooyoung...." a voice calls softly.

Sooyoung's brow furrows and she stirs, but does not wake up.

"Sooyoung, it's time to get up. It's already 11am." Whoever the person was, they pulled down the bedsheets to expose Sooyoung's face.

Sooyoung grumbles and pulls the bedsheets over her head, completely burying herself unto the sheets. "Just.... five more minutes, Mom...."

"What? I'm not your mom!"

Sooyoung's eyes immediately snap open after hearing that. She slowly moves the bedsheets off her head to locate the source of the voice. When she realized who the person was, her eyes widen to the max and her jaw drops open.

"Good morning, Sooyoung!" Tiffany says happily, sitting  on her knees on Sooyoung's bed.

"AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!!" Sooyoung screams. She backs herself against the bed post, pointing at Tiffany with her index finger. "HOW THE HELL DID YOU GET INTO MY ROOM?! WAIT NO! HOW THE HELL DID YOU GET INTO MY HOUSE?!"

"Your mom let me in!" Tiffany smiles. Sooyoung gawks at her.

"JUST HOW DID YOU FIND MY HOUSE!?"

Tiffany rubs the back of her neck, embarrassed. "Well... I kinda followed you home yesterday.... to.. you know... find out where you live." She giggles.

Sooyoung stares in disbelief at Tiffany, who was STILL smiling. "No way.... This can't be happening. Okay okay. Calm down, Sooyoung. This is CLEARLY a nightmare. A very vivid nightmare.... Yeah... that's it... I'll just go back to sleep and when I wake up, this creepy girl will disappear."

Tiffany crawls toward the taller girl and sits directly in front on Sooyoung. "Sorry to disappoint you but this isn't a dream." She winks and pokes Sooyoung's cheek.

The color drains from Sooyoung's face.

"MOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOM!!!!!"

-------------------

After dressing up, Sooyoung hurries downstairs with Tiffany trailing behind her. She finds her mother in the kitchen, preparing breakfast. "Mom! Did you really let this..... this... thing in our house?!" Sooyoung demands.

"Hey! I'm not a thing!" Tiffany pouts.

"Sooyoung! That's no way to be talking to our guest!" Mrs. Choi scolds her daughter.

"Our GUEST!?" Sooyoung repeats. "Mom did you know she followed me home yesterday just to know where I live?"

"Yes. She told me."

Sooyoung slaps her forehead. "Um Mom... that means she was stalking me! AND YOU LET HER IN OUR HOUSE! EVEN MY ROOM!"

"Oh Sooyoung," Mrs. Choi sighs. "You are overreacting. Sure I was skeptical when she showed up at our door but once she said she was your friend I couldn't help but be thrilled! You finally made a friend! And that smile of hers! It's adorable."

"Great Mom! Who else are you going to let in our house? A serial killer? A psychopath?" Sooyoung says sarcastically. "She's not even my friend! You shouldn't believe strangers like her!"

"I'll lay the blame for this, Mrs. Choi," Tiffany confesses. "To be honest, I want to be Sooyoung's first friend. But as you can tell, she hasn't opened up to me."

"How do you expect me to like you when you stalk me and pop up in my room?" Sooyoung retorts.

"Because it's cooler that way!" Tiffany smiles.

Mrs. Choi turns to her daughter. "I like this girl."

"Just great..." Sooyoung mutters.

"Come on Tiffany. Please join us for breakfast!" Mrs. Choi insists.

"Thank you! I'd be honored!"

Sooyoung sighs.

The three of them eat their breakfast together. Tiffany was working her charms on Mrs. Choi while Sooyoung was eating her food quietly, still can't believe her mother was already captivated with this odd, bubbly girl from her school. After finishing her breakfast, Tiffany stands up from the table and bows. "Thank you for the food, Mrs. Choi!"

"Thank you, Mom. It was delicious," Sooyoung adds.

Mrs. Choi laughs. "My pleasure girls.

"I'm going to spend the Saturday hanging out with Sooyoung! Is that okay?" Tiffany asks.

"Of course!"

"Wait..... We're gonna what?" Sooyoung questions, even though she clearly heard what Tiffany said.

"Yay! We're going to have a lot of fun!" Tiffany claps in delight and jumps up and down in excitement.

Mrs. Choi smiles. "Excuse me, Tiffany. But could you wait outside for Sooyoung? I need to speak to her quickly."

"Sure!" Tiffany leaves the kitchen at heads for the door.

Sooyoung sighs. "Phew glad she's finally out of the--"

"Sooyoung." Sooyoung notices the serious tone in her mother's voice and pauses. "Why are you being so difficult with that girl?"

Sooyoung could tell where this was going but chooses not to respond.

"Ever since the incident at your old school, you've been pushing people away. I know it's so you won't risk hurting anyone but... it really pains me to see you so lonely. The way you were acting towards Tiffany.... although you were exasperated with her, it was the first time I've seen you with such life in you in such a long time."

Sooyoung rubs her arm uncomfortably.

Mrs. Choi continues. "I can tell that girl sincerely wants to be your friend. And I know your heart has hardened because of that incident, but give Tiffany a chance. Somewhere in you, I know you actually like Tiffany and you're just denying it. Be her friend, Sooyoung. Do it for me so I can stop worrying about my daughter who's been pretending to be okay when clearly she is not."

Sooyoung turns her back to her mother. ".... Okay." Mrs. Choi smiles. "I'll see you later, Mom." She leaves the kitchen and exits the house to find Tiffany waiting for her.

"Hello!"  Tiffany says brightly.

"Geez, you're always so happy," Sooyoung sighs.

"Well I have no reason to frown!" Tiffany observes Sooyoung's expression. "You okay?"

Sooyoung nods. "Yeah, I'm fine." She sighs again. "When you said yesterday, you'd see me tomorrow..... I had no idea you were serious.."

Tiffany laughs. "When I say I'm going to do something, I'm determined to make it come true. That's including you becoming my friend."

Sooyoung stares at the smiling girl. "Your eyes...."

"What about them?"

"It looks like.... they smile at me whenever you smile."

"Ah! You mean my eye smile!" Tiffany chuckles. "Some people find this trait of mine charming and unique. I used to think it was weird but I've grown accustomed to it."

Despite the fact she did not want to, Sooyoung could not help but smile slightly. "It's... cute." Sooyoung gasps at what she said and covers her mouth, clearly surprised by her actions. "Err.... I mean.... Want to go to the mall?" Without waiting for a response, Sooyoung begins walking towards the bus stop.

Tiffany was surprised by Sooyoung's words as well. Slowly, the smile on her face gradually gets wider, her eyes twinkling as they smile too.

"Wait for me, Sooyoung!"
