Summary: Sooyoung and Yuri. Also known as the gag/violent pair. Always together, always causing trouble. But when true feelings begin to develop in one of them, how can anyone take her seriously? Especially when the one she loves thinks she is joking all the time?
--------------------
Sooyoung did not know where to look. Running around aimlessly, Sooyoung calls Yuri's name over and over., screaming at the top of her lungs hoping to hear Yuri's voice calling back to her.
No response.
Sooyoung momentarily stops running, panting to catch her breath. She begins to cough violently, her throat sore and irritated from all the yelling. She takes out her cell phone and dials Yuri's number.
"Hey it's Kwwooooonn Yuuuuuriii! Sorry I'm not available at the moment so-"
Sooyoung hangs up and curses at herself. It went immediately to her voicemail. Yuri's phone was off. She didn't know what to do. Sooyoung glances at the time on her phone and realizes it was getting late.
Not knowing what else she could do, Sooyoung heads back to the dorm thinking the other members will help her search for Yuri. She suddenly gains some strength and runs to the dorm.
"I love you."
Those words were still ringing in Sooyoung's head. She remembers Yuri slapping her after thinking it was all a joke.
She remembers Yuri's face darkened with anger and tears streaming from her eyes.
"WHY WOULD I BE JOKING ABOUT SOMETHING LIKE THIS?! IT'S NO JOKE, SOOYOUNG."
Sooyoung's heart begins to ache.
"I LOVE YOU!"
She bites down on her lower lip. Just why did she think Yuri's words were a joke? She was such an idiot.
"Yuri... Please be okay," Sooyoung mutters to herself as she runs.
--------------------
After arriving to the SNSD dorm, Sooyoung hesitantly puts her hand on the doorknob. What would her fellow members say to her for not knowing Yuri's whereabouts? Sooyoung takes a deep breath and opens the door.... only to be grabbed by the collar and pulled down by Sunny.
"You! What the hell did you do to Yuri!?" Sunny demands.
"Sunny... your language.." Taeyeon says from behind her.
"I don't care!" Sunny says irritably.
"Wait... Yuri is here? She's okay?" Sooyoung asks in disbelief.
"Yeah she's in our room but she's FAR from okay! What did you do to her?!" Sunny demands again.
"Why do you immediately think it's my fault..? What happened?" Sooyoung defends herself weakly.
"Yuri burst through the door about half an hour ago in tears, yelling 'I hate her, I hate her!'. She shut herself in our room. The rest of us could hear her sobs through the door."
"But I don't understand how that implies it's my fault!"
Sunny narrows her eyes at Sooyoung. "Yuri confessed her feelings to you, didn't she?" Sooyoung flinches and gulps. "I'm right, aren't I? Just what did you do to make Yuri cry like that?"
"I'm curious as well," Jessica says walking into the room, with Tiffany trailing behind her.
Sooyoung lowers her gaze to the floor and explained what happened during Yuri's confession. She hesitantly explained how she thought Yuri was joking with her when she told her she loved her, earning her looks of disbelief from Sunny, Jessica, Tiffany, and Taeyeon.
"You thought she was JOKING?!" Sunny could not help but repeat. "And you said you even laughed?! Sooyoung you totally deserved to be slapped!"
"No wonder Yuri was hurt. How could you think such a thing Sooyoung?" Jessica frowns.
"I didn't know! We were joking all night long... and I just thought she was joking with me again!" Sooyoung protests.
"Are you that stupid not to realize a confession when you hear one?!" Sunny shouts angrily. "How would you feel if the person you just confessed to just laughed at your feelings for them?!"
"Sunny, please don't shout. You might wake up Hyoyeon, Seohyun, and Yoona and disturb Yuri..." Taeyeon says softly.
Tiffany leans against the wall as she listen to the discussion, sadness in her expression. Jessica notices and stands next to her girlfriend and puts her arm around the mushroom's shoulder. Sooyoung tightens her fist and she glares at Sunny. "Look I'm seriously sorry for hurting Yuri like this. But you don't have to insult me you know! And just how did you know Yuri confessed to me anyway?!"
Sunny crosses her arms. "Because she told me and Jessica last night that she was going to tell you her feelings when you guys go out." Jessica nods in agreement. "And I've already known Yuri's feelings for you for some time now."
Sooyoung was surprised. "What?" She looks at Tiffany and Taeyeon. "Did you two know about Yuri's feelings too?!"
"Only recently... I heard it from Jessica today," Tiffany answers.
"As for me, I've noticed Yuri's behavior changes when you are involved ever since the accident with her ankle. But like Tiffany, I learned about her feelings for you today, which explains why she acts so different towards you, " Taeyeon responds.
"She acts differently... when she's with me?" Sooyoung mutters, confused.
Jessica shakes her head. "Sooyoung I know you are usually oblivious but this is ridiculous. Now even when I think about it... Yuri's feelings are quite obvious."
"Think about it Sooyoung," Sunny says. "Haven't you realize that Yuri acts so different when she's around you compared to when she's with any of us?
Sooyoung was speechless as she tries to recall her recent memories with Yuri.
Taeyeon exhales loudly. "Okay everyone it's already late as it is. If we want to talk about this more, let's save it for the morning. Let's all go to bed."
Sunny frowns but complies with the leader's request. Jessica and Tiffany nod and went head to their rooms first. Sunny says goodnight to Taeyeon but completely ignores Sooyoung as she walks off to her own room. Taeyeon was about to go to bed when she realized Sooyoung wasn't following her. "Aren't you coming Sooyoung?"
"I bet you're angry with me as well huh, Taeyeon?" Sooyoung asks sadly.
Taeyeon bites her lip. "I wouldn't say mad. More like... disappointed. You really cared for Yuri when she got hurt... I would never imagine you'd hurt her like this." Sooyoung lowers her head in shame. Taeyeon walks over to the Shikshin and rubs her back comfortably. "I know things will get better though. I know you feel guilty for what you've done. I know Yuri will forgive you in time." Taeyeon smiles at Sooyoung. "She loves you after all."
"Why would she after what I've done?" Sooyoung says quietly. "I wouldn't be surprised if she hates me for the rest of her life."
"Yuri isn't the type of person to hold grudges. You should know right? You're her best friend too, you know?" Sooyoung says nothing, causing the leader to sigh. "Come on, let's go to bed now."
Sooyoung shakes her head. "I'm gonna sleep on the couch...."
"What? Why?"
"I have a lot on my mind and I might disturb you and Yoona when you two are sleeping. It's okay... go on without me."
Reluctantly, Taeyeon leaves Sooyoung alone in the living room and bids the younger girl goodnight. Sooyoung takes off her backpack and sets it next to the couch. After turning off the lights, Sooyoung navigates through the darkness to the couch and lies down, not bothering to even change her clothes or brush her teeth.
The entire night her thoughts were about Yuri. She did not sleep well at all.
--------------------
The sun has not fully risen yet, but Yuri is wide awake. She rubs her eyes only to wince at the slight sting as she does. She could feel her eyes were still a little puffy, most likely due from the fact she cried herself to sleep last night. Yuri quietly gets out of bed, making sure not to disturb Sunny who was still off in dreamland. Yuri decides to put on some athleticwear for an early morning run. She also puts some money in her pocket because she already knew she was not going to spend breakfast at the dorm.
Because she wasn't ready to face Sooyoung after what occured last night.
Yuri was still very upset. She was upset that things went worse than she ever imagined. She was upset that Sooyoung did not take her confession seriously. She was upset that she planned the date, only to be for nothing.
And yet.... Yuri could not help but....
She places a hand over her heart, then silently curses to herself.
After finishing dressing up, Yuri swiftly writes a note to Taeyeon about where she's going to be. She quietly exits her room and slips the note through the crack of Taeyeon, Yoona, and Sooyoung's room. Yuri walks down the hallway and enters the living room. Her eyes were attracted to a figure lying on the couch.
Yuri's heart jumps when she realizes it was Sooyoung. The Shikshin was still in her clothes that she wore last night and was lying on her stomach. A trail of drool was seeping out of the corner of her mouth. In spite of herself, Yuri could not help but smile at the sight. But then the memory of Sooyoung laughing at her feelings surfaced into her mind and the smile quickly fades from her lips.
The Black Pearl looks away from the sleeping Shikshin and quietly exits the dorm without a second thought.
--------------------
"Yah Sooyoung! Wake up!"
A figure shakes the slumbering Sooyoung but the Shikshin refuses to be awaken.
"Wake up already! You're drooling all over the couch!" The figure tries to wake up Sooyoung again.
Sooyoung groggily opens her eyes, her vision not entirely focused. She looks at the figure who was a blur in her eyes. "Yuri...?" she asks, still dazed.
"Uh... no sorry. You got the wrong person."
Sooyoung blinks a couple of times. She realizes the person who woke her up was the dancer. "Hyoyeon... unnie?"
Hyoyeon was surprised at Sooyoung's words. "Okay you are definitely not awake. Since when do you ever call me 'unnie'?" Sooyoung continues to stare at her blankly. Hyoyeon sighs. "Come on, I made breakfast so let's eat. Oh and by the way you are drooling quite excessively so be sure to wipe your mouth. And the couch too." She turns around and heads back to the kitchen.
Sooyoung lazily wipes her mouth of her saliva. She pushes herself off her stomach and sits right side up. She raises her arms above her head, yawning as she does. A few moments later, Sooyoung joins some of her fellow members at the table. She takes her seat. From the refridgerator Taeyeon notices Sooyoung.
"Morning, Shikshin," Taeyeon greets with a smile. She takes out a carton of milk.
"Hey," Sooyoung responds.
"Unnie, where were you? You weren't in our bedroom," Yoona asks.
"I just slept on the couch. I had too much on my mind so I just went to sleep without changing my clothes or brushing my teeth."
From across the table, Seohyun grimaces upon hearing that. "Ew, Unnie. You should really take the time to brush your teeth. You don't want to get gingivitis, do you?" Sooyoung rolls her eyes. She really did not want to be scolded by the maknae.
Tiffany, who was sitting next to her roommate, laughs. "Come on Seohyun. Give Sooyoung a break. She..." The mushroom pauses. "had a rough night."
Seohyun instantly caught on what Tiffany was trying to say. "Oh. I'm sorry, Unnie," she says to Sooyoung.
Sooyoung shakes her head and smiles. "Don't worry about it, Maknae." At the end of the table, she notices Sunny quietly eating her breakfast. "Um... morning," she says awkwardly Sunny.
Sunny slowly looks up from her plate, still chewing her food. She swallows. "Morning."
An uncomfortable silence fell between Sooyoung and Sunny.
"Sorry," Sunny says all of a sudden.
"Huh?"
"For last night," Sunny clarifies. "I was too harsh. I let my emotions get the best of me."
"No... I actually deserved your criticisms. Don't be sorry." Sooyoung flashes Sunny a sad, but forgiving smile. Sunny smiles back and silently returns to her meal. Taeyeon smiles at the fact the two were able to reconcile with each other.
Sooyoung realizes that two members were missing. "Where's Jessica?"
Taeyeon notices too. "You're right. Hyoyeon, where's your roommate?"
"Probably sleeping. You know how our Ice Princess is," Hyoyeon replies from the stove.
"I'll go wake her up!" Tiffany volunteers instantly.
Taeyeon eyes her suspiciously. "Someone's eager. You're not planning to do something weird to Jessica, are you?"
Tiffany blinks. "What do you mean? Just because I'm her girlfriend and that I want to wake her up and since we'd both be alone in the bedroom doesn't mean I'm going to do anything..." Tiffany stops rambling and realizes everyone was staring at her. "What?"
Taeyeon sighs. "Yoona, can you go get Jessica please? I don't trust this girl's hormones." Yoona laughs before running off to get her unnie.
"Hey! My hormones are just fine, thank you very much! I'm not sexually active at all!" Tiffany protests.
"Fany, you should just stop talking while you're ahead," Hyoyeon comments. Tiffany crosses her arms and pouts.
"Anyway.... where's Yuri?" Sooyoung asks softly.
"She left a note in our bedroom saying she was going out for an early morning run and was going to eat breakfast by herself," Taeyeon answers.
"Oh." Sooyoung's expression falls. They all knew the reason why Yuri wanted to have breakfast by herself was so she wouldn't have to see Sooyoung. The other members don't say the reason outload. "I think I should go change my clothes first before I eat breakfast," Sooyoung says suddenly.
"But, Unnie, your food will get cold by the time you come back," Seohyun points out.
"It's okay, I don't mind. I'm not that hungry anyway..." Before anyone else could respond, Sooyoung excuses herself from the table and heads back to her room.
Hyoyeon shakes her head in disbelief. "This is scaring me. First she calls me 'Unnie', and now she says she's not hungry!"
"I hope Sooyoung unnie will be alright," Seohyun says, worried. Tiffany nods in agreement.
"Hey guys I brought Jessica unnie!" Yoona says happily, changing the atmosphere in the kitchen. Yoona is behind Jessica, lightly pushing her to her seat. The Ice Princess grumbles to herself, clearly not pleased to be woken up.
"Good to see you out of bed, Jessica," Taeyeon comments. The response was more grumbling.
"I know what will help," Tiffany says. She walks over to Jessica and places a kiss on her lips. Jessica was surprised by the action yet a big love sick grin formed on her face. Tiffany giggles.
"Wow. Tiffany's kisses can melt the Ice Princess," Sunny comments.
"Okay now that you're awake come on and eat your breakfast," Hyoyeon says to Jessica, waving a spatula at her.
"Can I eat Tiffany instead?" Jessica asks bluntly with a devious grin on her face.
"Jessica!" Tiffany exclaims, blushing.
"Yah! Don't say such things in front of the maknaes!" Taeyeon gasps.
Yoona looks at Seohyun. "I don't get it."
"Me neither," Seohyun agrees.
Jessica swings her arm around Yoona. "Would you like to know?" the Ice Princess asks, smirking.
Imitating Jessica's gesture, Tiffany also swings her arm around Seohyun's shoulder. "We could teach you." She winks.
"You two are not teaching ANYTHING to Yoona and Seohyun! I do not approve of you two trying to corrupt the minds of these maknaes!" Taeyeon orders. Hyoyeon and Sunny laugh.
The front door abruptly opens.
"I'm back."
Everyone at the table freezes at the voice. Sunny was the first one to move. She heads over to the door to see Yuri taking off her sneakers. "Hey Yuri."
"Hey Sunny."
"You still got room in your stomach? We're still eating breakfast. Want to join us?"
Yuri shakes her head. "I'll pass. I'm full. I'm just gonna hang out in our room."
Sunny tries to read Yuri's expression. "Yuri... are you alright?"
Yuri says nothing but smiles sadly instead. She passes Sunny and heads for her room. As Yuri approaches the bedroom, someone bursts suddenly from a room nearby.
"YAH! KIM TAEYEON! WHERE DID YOU PUT MY HAIRBR-" Sooyoung stops yelling as she realizes the Black Pearl was standing right in front of her. "Y-Yuri..."
Yuri gazes at Sooyoung with surprised, wide eyes.
Silence fell between the two girls, neither one able to utter a word. Yuri begins to feel uncomfortable as she notices Sooyoung was staring at her with apologetic eyes, and yet the taller girl remained silent. Yuri slowly walks past Sooyoung, the younger girl feeling Yuri's shoulder brush her own. The contact felt cold to Sooyoung. Just as Yuri's hand was on the doorknob, Sooyoung quickly grabs Yuri's wrist.
"Yuri.... I...."
"Save your breath," Yuri snaps. Sooyoung takes a step back, startled by the edge in Yuri's voice. "I don't want to listen to you, Choi Sooyoung."
"Please, hear me out! Can we talk about this?" Sooyoung asks desperately.
"No. Leave me alone!"
Sooyoung tightens her grip on Yuri's wrist. "Yuri! Please!"
"Let me go!" Yuri tries to pull herself free.
"I'm sorry, Yuri! I really am! Listen to me!"
"LET... ME... GO!" Yuri forcefull pushes Sooyoung. The Shikshin falls to floor, bottom first.
"Uugghh..." Sooyoung hisses in pain as she rubs her butt. She looks up at Yuri, the older girl's eyes flaring in anger.
"Do you really think a measly apology is going to make me feel better? Do you really think it's going to make up for what you did to me last night?!" Yuri takes a deep breath, trying hard not to cry out of frustrations. "You have no idea how much your hurt me, Sooyoung...."
"Please.... forgive me..." Sooyoung whispers pitifully.
For a split second, Sooyoung thought Yuri's gaze softened. But before she could tell for sure, Yuri turns her back on her, enters her room and slams the door.
Sooyoung slowly stands up, her head lowered. Sunny emerges from behind her, coincidentally witnessing Yuri's verbal lashing.
"Sooyoung..." Sunny says softly, concern in her voice.
"Just why am I so stupid?" Sunny could tell Sooyoung was asking herself that. Sooyoung turns to Sunny and bends down to rest her forehead on the shorter girl's shoulder.
"I think I'm about to lose her, Sunny..."
"Give her time to cool off... It'll be okay. Just wait and see," the older girl assures her.
A minute passes and no words were exchanged.
"Sooyoung... your head is heavy," Sunny mutters suddenly.
"Sorry."
