Genre: Romance/Drama
Rating: PG/PG-13
Groups: SNSD, Kara, Big Bang
Pairing(s): SooSun(main pairing eventually), YulSic(slight), SooRa(Sooyoung x Hara)
Summary: Sunny thought moving to Seoul and transferring to an all-girl school was going to be exciting. She never thought she'd be caught in a tangled web of confusion, love, and violence.

-----------------------

Sooyoung finds herself in front of the gates of her school. Passing through the gates, she enters the courtyard leading into the main building. No one was around. She slowly advances towards the building and opens the doors. She finds Yoona walking towards her with a smile.

"Unnie! Where have you been? She's looking for you! You better hurry and find her!"

Sooyoung tries to speak but it felt like something was caught in her throat. Before she could even say anything, Yoona is already walking away, her figure disappearing little by little as she walks down the hall. Sooyoung tries to clear her throat but for some reason she couldn't speak. For some reason, she feels a force pulling her towards the staircase leading to the roof of the building. She walks up the stairs and encounters Yuri and Jessica heading down.

"Hey there you are!" Yuri says.

"Hurry and get to the roof, you slow poke! Don't keep her waiting!" Jessica giggles.

Again, Sooyoung has no choice but to let them pass through since she was unable to speak for some reason. She shrugs and decides to follow what her friends said and head for the roof. After climbing numerous stairs, she finally reaches the top. She slowly opens the door and immediately she is blinded by the rays of the sun. Sooyoung squints her eyes and realizes a figure is standing at the edge of the roof, looking across the fences surrounding the perimeter. From the flowing hair and white dress blowing in the wind, Sooyoung concludes it's a girl standing there. She warily approaches the mysterious girl.

The girl slowly turns around to face Sooyoung. Sooyoung's eyes widen.

"...Sunny," she breathes.

Sunny smiles lovingly. She walks up to Sooyoung, stands on her toes, and kisses Sooyoung on the lips.

~~~
Sooyoung's eyes instantly open and the first thing she sees is Sunny's sleeping face. Sunny was sleeping peacefully, a smile on her face. Sooyoung sits up from the bed carefully, trying not to wake up the shorter girl. After pouring out her heart again to Sunny, she asked the girl to spend the night with her. Sunny's presence always seemed to calm her mind, her soul..... her heart. Sooyoung does not undersand why.
"Just... why did I dream about that? Why.... why did I dream about Sunny...?" Sooyoung whispers to herself. Her eyes wander to Sunny and she could not help but smile. For now, she decides to head back to sleep.
The kiss in the dream stayed in her mind for the rest of the night.
In downtown Seoul, a doctor refills the IV treatment bag for a certain gang member at about 5am in the morning. Their location was a clinic. The room was dark except for one lamp hanging over the bed. The doctor glances down at his unconscious patient as he re-inserts the IV needle into the patient's arm. The doctor's ears twitch as he hears footsteps approaching from behind. He did not turn around; he already knew who it was.
"Can I help you, TOP?" the doctor asks as he continues to work.
TOP's eyes shine the in darkness as he is found out. He slowly emerges from the shadows of the room. "How is he, Dr. Kim? How is Taeyang?" he rumbles.
"The operation was a sucess: we managed to remove the bullets from his body as well as replace the blood he lost," Dr Kim responds, fiddling with his glasses. "This boy, though, might not be able to participate anymore in your little gang war."
"What do you mean?"
"During the operation, our surgeon found one of the bullets penetrated Taeyang quite deeply, very close to his spinal cord. We aren't certain, but the bullet wound might have an affect on his nervous system, meaning there is a possibility he may be paralyzed somewhere. We won't know if there are any disabilities until he has recovered enough to move around freely."
TOP turns his back against Dr. Kim. ".... As long as he lives."
Dr. Kim nods. "He will. That I am certain." He looks at the clock. "I don't mean to be rude, but if you don't mind, could you please leave my clinic? It will be open to the public in about an hour or so and I'd prefer a gangster not to be present when the common folk enter here."
"I was going to leave anyway," TOP growls. "Just keep taking care of Taeyang or else. The money for the operation will be delivered this evening." He takes one last look at Taeyang before heading for the door.
Dr. Kim bows as TOP leaves the room. "Send my regards to the Dragon Lord."
TOP snorts in response.
-------------------
After History class, Taeyeon and Sunny exit the classroom chatting about gossip around the rather than about what they learned in class. Taeyeon says goodbye to Sunny, saying she had a Student Representative meeting. Sunny nods and bids farewell to her friend. Soon after Taeyeon leaves, Sunny feels someone grab her wrist. She turns around and it was Sooyoung.
"Oh hey," Sunny greets with a smile.
"Hey," Sooyoung smiles back sheepishly. "Um do you want to eat lunch with me outside?"
Sunny tilts her head to the side. "Some place else other than the cafeteria?"
"Mmhm."
"Will Hara be eating with us?"
Sooyoung bites her lip. "No... I'm sure she'd want to eat with Gyuri and the others though. We both agreed that we'd always let each other be with our friends when we wanted to. I mean.... I know that I'm not the only important person in her life and that goes the same with me..." She gulps, feeling the explanation sounded a bit awkward.
"I understand," Sunny giggles. "But how come you don't want to eat at the cafeteria with the rest of our friends?"
The taller girl knew there was no other excuse she could make up. Sooyoung looks deeply into Sunny's eyes.
"Because I only want to eat with you. Just the two of us," Sooyoung confesses, trying to keep her voice void of emotions.
Sunny blinks as she stares back at Sooyoung. She suddenly feels her heartbeat increasing and her palms begin to sweat. "Oh I see," was all she could say.
Sooyoung extends a hand out to Sunny, smiling gently as her. "Do you wanna go?"
Without any hesitation, Sunny takes a hold of Sooyoung's hand.
"I'd love to."
--------------------
The two girls walk over to a secluded outdoor table in one of the school's courtyards. There were many lush, green trees surrounding the area, providing a great amount of shade to protect others from the sun's warm yet harmful rays. Sunny glances around at the other tables nearby, realizing they were empty. "Hey Sooyoung how come no one else is around?"
Sooyoung scratches her head, puzzled as well. "I'm not sure. I'm guessing everyone else is inside because it's quite humid today, but the trees provide adequate shade so I'm not really sure."
Sunny and Sooyoung sit down at the table and begin eating their lunch quietly with minimal chatter. After eating, Sunny could not help but ask a question. "How are you feeling today?"
Sooyoung closes her now empty container of food before answering. "Good. Why do you ask?"
"I know you must have a lot on your mind."
Sooyoung chuckles. "You know me well... Yes I do have a lot on my mind but..." She exhales slowly. "Just for once, even for just a moment I'd like to have no worries in my mind. Nothing has been happening for a while.... I guess what I'm trying to say is that I want to enjoy this time of peace. I want everyone else to as well."
Sunny smiles. "That's good to hear."
"What about you, Sunny? Is everything okay?" Sooyoung asks, propping her chin on her palm.
"Things are good for me too. Sungmin is being a pain but what else is new?" Sooyoung laughs at that. "And Bun Bun is better than ever. I think he's starting to get a little chubby though. I've noticed his appetite has increased too. Might have to make him exercise soon."
"I probably should too. I think I'm getting fat," Sooyoung sighs.
"You? Fat? You've got to be joking," Sunny laughs.
"Yaaaah why are you laughing?!"
"Sooyoung you are FAR from fat!"
"You don't know that! I need to maintain my figure so I can keep my job!"
"You are not fat," Sunny repeats.
Sooyoung scowls as Sunny grins at her.
--------------------
On the roof of the cafeteria, Hara, Gyuri, Seungyeon, Nicole, and Jiyoung were sitting on a picnic blanket having their lunch. Hara was on her cellphone calling a certain someone, a plastic container filled with food on her lap. After receiving the answering machine for the 5th time, Hara sighs and hangs up.
Gyuri pauses eating. "No answer again?" she says to Hara.
"Yeah. I guess Sooyoung's phone is off. Should I go look for her? I really want to surprise her with this lunch I made her." Hara glances down at the container.
Seungyeon looks at her watch. "You can if you want to. We still have plenty of time before lunch ends."
"Okay then. I'll be going! Hmmm... should I take my stuff with me?"
"Nah, just leave it here with us!" Nicole insists.
"If you're not back in time, I'll carry it since we have class together next period," Jiyoung adds with a cheeky smile.
"Are you sure, Jiyoung?" Hara asks hesistantly.
"Of course!" Hara quickly runs over and hugs Jiyoung before saying "thank you".
Hara hurries downstairs with a smile on her face as she holds the container. The first place she went to is the cafeteria itself. She searches for Sooyoung's group of friends. Hara finally sees the familiar faces and skips over to them. "Hello, Unnies! Hello Yoona!"
Yuri, Jessica, Hyoyeon, and Yoona greet Hara. "Hi Hara. What brings you here?" Hyoyeon says.
"I was wondering if any of you have seen Sooyoung," Hara says.
"Sorry we haven't seen her since this morning," Yoona replies.
"Oh.."
"I'm taking it that you want to give her that?" Jessica smiles, pointing at the container. Hara smiles and nods.
Yuri laughs. "Sooyoung will definitely love it, especially if it's coming from you, Hara."
"Thanks Yuri! Well I better go look for her before lunch ends." Hara waves goodbye to them and runs out the building.
'I wonder where she is.... Maybe she's outside....' Hara thinks.
The petite girl jogs around the cafeteria building to get to the outdoor courtyards. As soon as she does, she sees Sooyoung and Sunny alone at a table. Immediately, Hara retreats back around the corner. She puts her back against the wall, her heart suddenly beating rapidly. It was so strong she could feel it impacting the container of food she was holding against her chest. Hara slowly takes a peak from around the corner to gaze at her girlfriend and Sunny. She could see that they were sitting next to each other. Sunny was laughing happily and Sooyoung was looking at her with a tender gaze and a goofy smile on her face. Hara could feel her heart painfully beating in her chest as she watches the sight unfold. Hara glances down at the food she prepared for Sooyoung. Turning away, Hara quickly heads back to the cafeteria roof.
-------------------
"Seungyeon how did you get this answer?" Gyuri asks, comparing her Calculus homework with her friend's.
Seungyeon takes a loook at Gyuri's work. "You mean for problem 21? I just used my calculator." As the two 3rd years continued to talk about their homework, across from them Jiyoung and Nicole were playing Mario Kart on their DS's.
"No fair, Nicole!" Jiyoung cries with a pout. "You've already hit me twice with red shells!"
"How is that not fair?! Don't be a sore loser!" Nicole retorts with a smirk. Her attention is averted as she sees Hara emerging from the door. "Hey Hara!" Nicole eyes her friend with concern after seeing Hara's expression.
"I'm assuming you weren't able to find Sooyoung, huh," Gyuri says.
"Y-Yeah... I couldn't find her..." Hara mutters. Seungyeon raises a brow at Hara. "Do any of you want this?" She holds out the container.
"Why don't you just wait till after school to give it to Sooyoung?" Seungyeon suggests
Hara shakes her head. "I won't be seeing her after school. Sooyoung has a mini photoshoot right after school. I don't want to put this food to waste. Please if you want it you can take it." Hara notices Nicole staring at the food. "You want it?"
"You sure?" Nicole asks, uncertain.
"Of course," Hara smiles.
"Yay! Thanks Hara you're the best!" Nicole gives Hara a big hug.
Hara smiles as she embraces Nicole, yet she could still feel her chest tighten as she recalls what she saw in the courtyard.
Sooyoung....
TOP returns to the main underground base of Big Bang after departing from the clinic. He passes by some of his fellow subordinates, who respectfully salute him, and enters the cargo room. TOP approaches a man in a cap and holding a clipboard with a checklist on it. The capped man was too busy ordering other memers to move a few crates to notice TOP. TOP grunts roughly, startling the poor man.
"TOP! Sir! I didn't know you returned!" the man sputters and quickly salutes.
"What's with all these crates? I thought the shipment from the black market wasn't suppose to come for another four days," TOP demands.
"It's good news, sir! Division 7 and 13 were able to sieze one of the main hideouts of Double S! They confiscated their rations, supplies, and weapons and delivered them back to our base."
"Good news indeed. I guess the intel we received from our recon unit proved helpful... Were there any casualties?"
"There were a lot injured after the infiltration and battle but we didn't lose any men."
"What about from Double S?"
"All dead," the capped man replies simply. "But apparantly one of five head honchos, Hyungjoon, was in charge of that hideout and we captured him alive. Right at this very moment, the Dragon Lord himself is interrogating him."
TOP cocks an eyebrow. "Oh really? Well that's a little unusual. There's another thing I'd like to ask you. Have Divisions 2 through 4 found Seungri yet?"
"Sorry, TOP sir, but we can't find any leads on his location. Seoul is such a large city and there are so many places he could hide! We can't afford to add more Divisions to the search party because that'd mean we would have to weaken our base's defense!"
TOP tightens his fist and grits his teeth. "Then I'll find him on my own then. That bastard needs to die."
The man in the cap gulps. "But you are only one man! There's no way you can find him by yourself if two Divisions can't even find a trace of him!"
"Watch me," TOP hisses, narrowing his eyes. He immediately leaves the cargo room.
--------------------
It's been about a week since Hara saw Sooyoung with Sunny at the outdoor courtyard during lunch. Since then, Hara could feel Sooyoung slowly drifting away from her. Sooyoung hasn't eaten lunch with her since then or has even bothered to search for her during lunch. Sooyoung still walks her home though, and that makes Hara happy... yet the fact Sooyoung is hiding her lttle lunch dates with Sunny hurts Hara a lot. Her friends, especially Seungyeon, who has always been protective of her ever since they were small children, noticed how Sooyoung and Hara haven't been eating lunch together. Hara continues to tell them that she sincerely wants to spend more time with her friends and she thinks Sooyoung should too.
Hara couldn't bear to tell them the truth because she herself can't even handle the truth.
It was only 9 o'clock at night and Hara lying in bed. Hara stares at her ceiling trying to get her mind off her troubles. She sighs and turns on her side, facing her nightstand. On the nightstand were the many selca photos she took with Sooyoung, kept in handmade frames she and Sooyoung made together. There were many pictures of them in funny looking poses, flashing victory V-signs and gigantic smiles. There were also the few photos where she and Sooyoung were simply smiling, bright and happy, their heads leaning on each other.
Hara's eyes begin to tear and she turns to the opposite side. Next to her she stares at the stuffed koala bear that was laying next to her and she recalls the memory of when she first received it
~~~

Sooyoung and Hara were walking down the streets, hand in hand. It was their first date since they've gotten together a week ago, but due to school they haven't had time to have dates till now.

"What should we do now, Hara?" Sooyoung asks her girlfriend with a huge smile.

Hara taps her chin thoughtfully. "Let's go to the arcade! I have this urge to play Dance Dance Revolution or one of those racing games!"

"DDR? You? But you're so clumsy you tend to trip often when you run! What if you trip yourself while playing that game?" Sooyoung jokes.

"Yah! Don't be mean!" Hara pouts, playfully punching Sooyoung.

The taller girl laughs. "Okay okay! I'm sorry! Forgive me?"

"Of course," Hara chuckles. "Hey we're already at the arcade! And look, there's that crane machine outside the entrance!" She quickly dashes for the machine letting go of Sooyoung's hand.

"Huh? What?! Wait up Hara!" Sooyoung says following after Hara. Her girlfriend was looking through the glass at all the stuffed animals with sparkles in her eyes. "Any animal you're looking at in particular?"

Hara turns to Sooyoung, nodding vigorously. "Yeah! That koala bear right there. I can't believe it's still there... I asked Seungri if he could get it for me but he didn't have any money after our last date... That was three weeks ago..." Hara's face saddens. Sooyoung hated to see Hara like this... especially when Seungri was mentioned. The guy thinks he's still dating Hara and has no idea of her relationship with Hara. Sooyoung was going to worry about it later.

Sooyoung pats reassuringly on Hara's shoulder. "I'll get it for you! I have some change in my pocket!" Sooyoung inserts a coin into the machine, gearing the claw to go.

After 6 minutes and 8 coins later, Sooyoung sighs after missing the koala again. "Grrr....."

Hara clings onto Sooyoung's arm, gently tugging her. "It's okay Sooyoung. I don't want you wasting your money all on this machine... It's just a toy."

"No. I'm not giving up yet. I still have one more coin!" Sooyoung takes her coin and brings it to her chest. "Please be lucky... please be my lucky coin...." She inserts the coin into the machine and immediately sets the claw over the koala bear. It could have been luck, it could have been technique. Either way, Sooyoung was able to capture the stuffed toy for Hara.

"Yes!" Sooyoung smiles.

"You did it! Sooyoung jjang!" Hara cheers.

Sooyoung bends down and removes the koala from the bin. She hands it to Hara. "Happy one week anniversary!!"

Hara takes the toy and giggles. "One week anniversary? I think you should have waited for our one month."

"That's so far away! If I could I'd have an anniversary everyday.... but then I'd be broke and it wouldn't feel as special..."

"Thank you, Sooyoung," Hara smiles, hugging her new koala tightly.

Sooyoung wraps her arms around Hara lovingly. "Anything for you," she whispers softly.

~~~
Hara brings her koala close to her, tears streaming down her cheeks. The stuffed koala was the first gift she ever received from Sooyoung and she treasures it dearly. Everytime she looks at the koala, that memory always plays in her mind. She tightly hugs the koala.
"S-Sooyoung...." Hara sniffles as the tears continue to fall.
She turns off the lamp in her room and cries herself to sleep, still hugging the stuffed koala in her arms.
--------------------
Unknownst to any of their friends, Sooyoung and Sunny finished having a small date at the mall. Both girls kept denying that it was a date in their heads, but anyone who saw them would definitely think otherwise. Sooyoung and Sunny were heading back to their houses from the bus stop and without realizing it they were holding each other's hands as they walked. Sunny stops right in front of her mailbox and turns to face Sooyoung. "Thanks a lot for... hanging out with me today, Sooyoung."
For some reason, Sooyoung's heart was beating fast as she stares deeply into Sunny's eyes. Really fast. "No problem. I... I had a lot of fun being with you." Sunny chuckles softly as she tucks a few straw hairs behind her ear.
A long awkward silence fell between them, neither girl not knowing what to say. To Sunny, the entire evening seemed like a dream, a make-believe fantasy of hers that would never come true.... that it would just be her and Sooyoung. Together. And yet it all happened. Sunny bites the bottom of her lip, looking away from the taller girl for a moment.
But just what does "together" mean for me and Sooyoung...?
Once again, Sunny locks eyes with Sooyoung's. She could see conflict in the taller girl's eyes but she couldn't read what that meant. Sunny fidgets slightly. "Well... I'm going inside now... Goodnight Sooyoung."
She motions towards her house and immediately Sunny feels Sooyoung grabbing her wrist, pulling her close and enveloping her in a hug, startling the shorter girl. "S-Sooyoung..." she breathes against her chest. She could feel how fast Sooyoung's heart was racing.
"Sunny..." Sooyoung whispers gently. She slowly separates herself from Sunny, but with less than an inch of space between them. "Whenever I'm with you... I feel... at ease. I feel more content..."
"Sooyoung..." Sunny says again, not knowing what else to say.
Suddenly Sooyoung begins to close the distance between her and Sunny's face, leaning forward. Sunny's heart skipped a beat as she is eye level with Sooyoung, as she realizes there is barely any space left between their lips. Not know what else to do, Sunny closes her eyes as she prepares herself. Sooyoung closes her eyes as she kisses Sunny, just like that without any thought. Sunny felt like she was soaring, her heart fluttering, her face flushed as she kisses Sooyoung back with tender love. Sooyoung wraps her arms around Sunny, pulling her close one again and deepening the kiss.
S-Sooyoung....
A sudden shock suddenly runs through Sooyoung's body, startling her and pushing Sunny away. The two girls look at each other, both breathing hard and faces flushed from their kiss. Sooyoung fiercely grips and shakes her head. "Sunny... I...! I shouldn't have... I'm sorry... that kiss..." The words continue to fumble out of her mouth, but Sunny could tell what she was trying to say.
That kiss should have never happened.
"It was my fault too... I should have pushed you away earlier... You're..." Sunny gulps. "taken already." Sunny turns her back against Sooyoung. "I'm sorry... I'll see you later... Goodnight." With that said, Sunny quickly makes for the door, not looking back at the taller girl.
Sooyoung continues to stand in front of Sunny's house, head lowered. She couldn't believe what she just done. A huge wave of guilt hits Sooyoung's consciousness.
S-Sooyoung....
She grips her chest where her heart is. Her heart was aching.
"Hara... are you crying right now...?" Sooyoung mutters to herself.
