It was only after he had exhausted all of his other options not counting magic, but magic is clearly not an option that he took the key and tried it in the little door. Kurogane had been gone an awfully long time now. Perhaps the mansion had taken him somewhere else...like

[Even Kurogane's usual miserable mood didn't seem to encompass the usual 'I want to go home' feeling. How much Fai noticed that, of course, depended on how much he registered anything else while looking at the ninja's set of button-eyes. Fai simply had to turn around to see them.]

[Fai did turn, at the sound of Kurogane's voice, but the face that it came from was not the same. He was immediately wary upon noticing Kurogane's button eyes.]

You're...not Kuro-tan.

[He stays there though, despite his urge to back away from this strange person. Everything he knew seemed to indicate that something was very wrong with this place, and his discomfort was very obvious.]

[He frowns a little at that, though it's not quite as grumpy as the Real Kurogane's would be. Somehow, this Kurogane understands the discomfort and isn't going to simply try to snap Fai out of it.]

I know you're not used to it yet, but that is who I am. And this is your new home. You wanted to stay in the Mansion, right?

[Fai eyed this new Kurogane carefully. His answer had taken him by surprise.]

That's right, but...you didn't, right?

[This isn't helping Fai think you're the right person, Kurogane. Not that it's really Kurogane's fault. Fai's just a little naturally suspicious of things like this.]

[There's a piece of candy being offered to Fai, an almost (really) genuinely pleasant smile along with it.]

Good day! Would you care for some tea?

[Fai raises an eyebrow at the candy, and at this Other Break, but Fai accepts it. However, he puts it into his pocket and does not eat it just yet.]

Thank you...but I'm afraid I'll have to pass. [He's almost grown used to giving excuses for not eating or drinking, ever, and the smile he gives looks a little weary.] I'd hate to be so unsociable though. ...Could you perhaps tell me where I am?

What a shame. [He completely disregards the look and fingers a few hair strands, turning his face to gesture to the area.]
