[Fai did not initially go through the little door. Not immediately, anyway. It was only after he had exhausted all of his other options not counting magic, but magic is clearly not an option that he took the key and tried it in the little door. Kurogane had been gone an awfully long time now. Perhaps the mansion had taken him somewhere else...like oh, through a little door? There was certainly something on the other side, and that instinctive knowledge had made Fai just a little reluctant.
He did open the little door though, and enter...what seemed to be another version of Wonderland. It did not seem wholly different, aside from the button-eyed people around...and how they seemed to keep looking at him.
No, something else was off. ...There was often a sense of worry and homesickness looming about the mansion, but everyone seemed...oddly pleased to be there. That was kind of peculiar.]
