Oh the tangled webs we weave...
~*~*~
“Junhyung, I heard something weird from Jiyoon… But it can’t possibly be true, so I figured I’d give you a chance to defend yourself.”
Junhyung sighed and steeled himself for the worst as he turned back to face Hyuna. He had a feeling what she wanted to grill him about and it wasn’t going to be pleasant.
They weren’t dating anymore, thankfully, but she still pushed his buttons worse than anyone but his family and his band.
“I really don’t have time, Hyuna. They’re expecting me up at the studio like… Five minutes ago.”
She scowled at him for a moment before grabbing his arm and dragging him off. Her forcefulness had been part of what had drawn him to her in the first place and he felt the familiar thrill of arousal tug at him as she pushed him into a dark dressing room.
“You know-”
“Save it,” she ground out, flipping on a light and rounding on him to glare more fully. “Now tell me the truth.”
“I have no idea what you’re talking about.”
Hyuna hesitated for a moment, searching his eyes for something and it was all he could do not to look away. She always could read him too well for her own good. “So you’re not dating Yoseob?”
The relief still held a hint of suspicion and it was more than Junhyung could actually stand. He glanced away and rubbed the back of his neck. “Well…”
“You are?” Her voice hit a note usually reserved for the stage as she buried both hands in her hair and closed her eyes. “Oh my god, you totally are. She was right.”
“It’s not… How is this any of your business anyways? You dumped me, remember?”
“Aigoo… She was right about that too???” He’d never seen Hyuna look so horrified. “This is… It’s my fault? Oh my god, I turned you off of girls, I made you gay?!?!”
Junhyung darted forward and covered her mouth, pulling her tight against his body. He made sure she could feel exactly how not turned off he was by the position. “It’s not like that!”
She hesitated a moment before twisting slightly in his arms to look at him better, batting his hand away from her mouth. He resisted, not wanting her to start yelling again, but she elbowed him sharply.
“Jesus, fuck. Why do you get hotter the more violent you are?” He let her go, though, lest she up the ante and go for his balls. She’d done that before and trying to explain why he was having trouble pissing had been even worse than the pain itself.
“Because you’ve got weird kinks,” Hyuna retorted as she calmed against him. “Now. If it’s not like that…. Tell me what it is like. Do you have any idea how embarrassing it is to have half the women in the business think you turned a renowned ladies man gay?”
He sighed and rubbed his neck again. “We’re not really dating.”
“I kinda got that from the entire it’s not like that whine. It doesn’t explain what it is like.”
“Yoseob is having problems with a guy. I offered to help him out… make the guy think he was off the market. Hopefully make the guy jealous enough to actually acknowledge the possibilities.” Junhyung made a face. “It’s just a little extra fan service here and there. I didn’t think anybody else would actually think we were dating.”
Her look was incredulous before she covered her eyes with one hand and sighed. “Sometimes you are the stupidest man alive, I swear.”
“What?”
She took pity on him, shaking her head and sighing again. “Junhyung, you’re one of the few guys in the business who never lets himself get pushed into doing more fan service than he wants to do - it’s always friendly and macho with your band and ramped up and ballsy with the girls. It’s what makes so many people admire you. And all of a sudden, you’re all over Yoseob whose sexuality is kind of an open secret. And not just randomly or jokingly, but all the time… With intent. Of course people think that you’re really dating.”
“Oh…” Junhyung scratched his head. “I just wanted to help Seobie out. I guess I didn’t really consider any of that.”
“No really?”
“Don’t be a bitch.”
“Please,” she said, smirking and wrapping her arms around his neck. “You love it when I’m a bitch.”
He grinned, leaning down to nip at her lips. “True. Why’d we break up again?”
“Because,” her response was lost in his mouth as he kissed her for real.
He didn’t hear the door when it opened, but he did hear the startled gasp and Dongwoon’s scandalized ‘hyung!’ before it slammed shut again.
“Dammit.”
Hyuna arched a brow and he buried his face in his hands for a moment before gesturing towards where Dongwoon had so hastily exited. “There went half of Yoseob’s problem. Probably to rat me out to the other half.”
“What are you going to do?”
He sighed. He had a pretty good idea of what Doojoon’s reaction was going to be. It didn’t matter who they were, people didn’t get away with hurting the people Doojoon cared about and whether or not his care was romantic, there was no one Doojoon cared about outside his blood family more than Yoseob. He couldn’t even blame the man for it because if it was anyone else caught cheating on Yoseob, he’d be right behind Doojoon ready to pound whatever was left of the slime.
Which meant this wasn’t going to end well for Junhyung.
“I’m going to hope like hell that Doojoon really does love Yoseob the same way Yoseob loves him because otherwise, I’m about to let one of my best friend’s whale on me for no reason at all.”
