Disclaimer: Though real people are used as characters, this fic bears no resemblance to Real Life and these people are not owned by me.

Comments/Notes: I added a Cast List to my journal to show not only the individuals you may be unfamiliar with, but also to give a general idea of what look they're all sporting since the fic itself never really gets heavy on the physical descriptions. It's still a work in progress, but I'm doing my best~<3

I'm working on Zhou Mi next. I was hoping to post it tomorrow night, but it's getting a fair bit longer than any of the others - no surprise, really, since it's quite an action packed bit - so it might take longer. We'll see~

Summary: Some days are more trouble than their worth.

Lexy scowled at the pile of ashes smoldering where her stack of talismans and wards had been sitting when she'd left the camp less than an hour before.

“umm.... I can explain?” The tiny imp had enough sense, at least, to keep the jeep between them. Unfortunately for him, such menial barriers were nothing against a witch gone rogue demon hunter.

A ground out command and the jeep went flying, bouncing off boulders and trees. In the back of her mind, Lexy added the destruction of one of the few material possessions she owned to the list of things Yoseob needed to pay for.

In blood, preferably.

“You are the most useless, miserable excuse of a familiar that I have ever even heard of,” she muttered as she got her hands around his middle. “I am going to squeeze you until your damned head pops off, then I'm going to use your lifeless corpse as a paintbrush for my new wards.”

The imp yelped and squirmed, desperately trying to get free. “But it wasn't my fault!” He wailed, beating ineffectively against her hand with tiny fists. “There was a spider!”

She held him up to her face, glaring. “I know for a fact that you are fully capable of killing a spider without setting my things on fire!”

“But I panicked! I thought it was going to eat me!”

“You said that last time!”

“It was true then too!”

They scowled at each other for a long moment before she shook her head. “Lazy, spineless little.... You're defective. I think it's time I traded you in for something useful. Like a cat!”

Yoseob pouted. “I'm useful.”

“My jeep was useful. My wards and talisman's were useful. You are not useful. You just happen to be what's left.”

His head tilted to the side as he considered her before the familiar impish grin returned. “I can prove I'm useful.”

Only rarely were imps chosen to be familiars. To be chosen was a special honor among their kind and Yoseob had always been boastful of the fact that he of all his clan had been called into the service, and not only by any witch, but by Lexy.

She wasn't self-absorbed, but Lexy was well aware that she'd been considered one of the most powerful witches ever born before she'd washed her hands of the entire business and set off on her own path. Losing his position as her familiar would have been a black mark on his record that Yoseob could never hope to overcome - even before he'd made sure to rub his achievement in as many faces as he could.

It didn't keep him from doing stupid, brain-dead things like setting her important talismans on fire, but it did mean that he got a little desperate to prove himself every time they had one of these little falling outs.

Deep down she was more than a little fond of him, otherwise she really would have squashed him ages ago.

Her glare focused once more on the ashes. Still, there was only so much an witch could reasonably take before enough was enough. “I highly doubt that.”

“Then you don't want to know about the two angels about to fall on your tent right .. about...” His eyes flickered to the side, where her tent was still standing despite his attempts at pyro-exterminating. “Now.”

She gaped slightly as the air opened up and promptly deposited two tumbling winged figures right over her tent. Her reaction was instinctive, one hand flying out and the command on her lips before she even really processed what was happening.

The pair untangled themselves where she'd moved them - well away from her tent - and hopped to their feet.

Free from her punishing grip, Yoseob lighted on her head. She didn't have to see the beaming grin to know it was there. “Hi, guys~”

“You!” Her scowl was back full force, directed this time at the familiar figure decked out with very unfamiliar wings.

She was almost as angry at herself for not noticing that he wasn't human as she was at him for lying to her about it. She took little consolation in the fact that angels were exceptionally skilled at hiding their true nature from non-angels or that no other witch had ever knowingly come into contact with one.

Even Yoseob hadn't realized when they'd tracked Henry down in an old library in some tiny little town in the backwoods of Canada. He'd given them valuable information that had helped her track down several particularly nasty little havoc-wreaking, flesh-eating demons. He'd had a sweet smile and a pleasant demeanor and had triggered neither of their suspicions. Not that first time or any of the subsequent times she'd gone back for other information.

Now, looking back at it with this new knowledge, it was suspicious how he'd always managed to have exactly whatever information she'd been looking for at the time.

“Umm... hi...” Henry looked a little sheepish as he edged closer. The other angel tugged at his arm and they shared a look before Henry took a deep breath and stood straight with confidence and maturity that she didn't remember the shy bookworm ever having before.

“I need your help.”
