Oh, wow. A day spent recharging my brain made me desperately want a vaguely 1930's-ish/Talespin (no, wait, don't run!) AU where Brian ends up co-owning a nightclub with Pete!
It's post-war and Brian's got some money saved up and wants to do something with it, but he hasn't been able to find the right sort of hook. But then his old war buddy Bob tells him about this nightclub Pete's trying to keep up and running where Bob works as a bouncer. Things aren't going so great with the nightclub, and Bob brings Brian by one night when Gerard's singing and Patrick's at the piano. Brian looks around and sees Ray behind the bar, smiling and friendly, and this tiny angry little guy manning the door in suspenders, rolled up sleeves, and a newsboy cap, with Joe and Andy in the house band.
Brian thinks the place has promise, and then he meets Pete and his accountant Mikey, and then SHENANIGANS.
Just think, Gerard occasionally going around in slinky dresses because they're pretty! Feather boas! Tiny angry little bouncer Frank being in love with Gerard the singer! Mikey with the little glasses from the 'GoY' video! Patrick and his fedora(s)! Brian and his everything! (He kind of hates Bob for getting him involved with all these crazy bastards, but he's put too much money into the nightclub to give up on it.)
And then, I don't know, air pirates show up in there somewhere and it's all very awesome. (Perhaps the feared Ryan Ross and his gang?) Oh, man. The Cab could be newsboys who hang around the nightclub sometimes and Cash is a street tough who loves annoying the hell out of Singer! (Greta and the rest of THS show up as an act Patrick finds somewhere! IDK!) Gabe is a rival nightclub owner who loves messing with Pete and Brian! He's always staring at Mikey for some reason, and Gerard is Not Happy about that!
