I think I have finally gotten to a point where I have a healthy relationship with food. I am still overweight, yes, but I feel so much better physically and mentally than I have in the past 8 years.
I know that I am giving my body and mind the nourishment they need. I sometimes will eat something I am craving, but don't feel so guilty like I used to in the past. I am eating as clean as I can and have noticed the benefits of eating healthy and excercising.
I am to the point were instead of craving things that are not healthy for me, I actually crave fruits, water, veggies etc. It's really amazing if you know my past history with food. I do sometimes want a slice of pizza or a piece of chocolate, and I do have it, I just don't have an entire pizza and a couple of chocolate bars anymore.
I now crave running, weightlifting, biking, I crave moving. I don't feel like I have to sit all the time like a couch potato. If I don't excercise my body feels it, I am addicted to the endorphins.
I did over due it with the weight lifting a few weeks ago and have pain in my left shoulder. I took a few days off, but went back to my normal routine and was still having pain. John one of my trainers has now banned me from doing any type of weights that constitute me pushing. Basically no chest press, no push ups etc. Wouldn't you know these are my favorite exercises? He actually wrote on my chart "No training were Jy is required to do any pushing, even if Jy insists she can do it" LOL He knows me too well. :)
I researched the hell out of foods, the food pyramid, organic food, and I cracked the world of supplements. I figured out which ones would be beneficial to me and am taking them regularly along with a multivitamin.
The most important thing is that everything I am doing is coming naturally to me. I don't really complain about going to the gym, or eating healthy. I am just doing it because it's what comes naturally to me now. I hope it continues to be that way.
Life is so much simpler when I feel in control of my body. :)
