For the x-pattern bingo on this card (the mechanical/technological square), because Mark's coffeemaker is probably my favorite character I've ever created and I have an undying love for it works for me and my coffee(maker). It's also for my
podfic_bingo gossip square, because this fic is kind of like a casual, gossipy chat with the coffeemaker.
Also: yes. Yes, that sound used for the coffeemaker's binary is exactly what you think it is. There's two reasons for that: me saying out the binary string would have added like four minutes to the podfic, not even joking, and also binary sounds really dumb when you say it out loud. Seriously. I figured that no one would be particularly mad if I, you know, made up an auditory equivalent of binary.
By the way, there's an alternate cover for this podfic located here for the people who are looking at the actual cover and going "who the hell has a polaroid of their coffeemaker lying around."
Which is a good question, because I don't even have pictures of my coffeemaker lying around and I have used some strange objects for my still life assignments. That is Mark's coffeemaker, though. Or, more accurately, that's the coffeemaker we've had for as long as I can remember and it's what I pictured when I pictured Mark's coffeemaker. All of the appliances in 8bit heart!Mark's house are stainless steel, by the way. He likes the way it looks.
Anyway, I hope you have as much fun listening to this podfic as I did recording it. ♥
