Amelia and Eleanor Take a Ride
This is a picture book I found in the library the other day. It is more or less about the time that Amelia Erehart and Eleanor Roosevelt took a flight together. I was hoping to like the book, but I really didn't. The author did a lot of research to make sure the flight really did happen, and then just tossed the evidence out the window and wrote a giddy work of fiction with events that bore almost no resemblance to the event she found in history. That is what bothers me. Sticking to the truth may still have rendered an interesting story.
