Somebody needs to be more careful when writing the president's speeches. I can see why the "John Ashcroft's porch" comment didn't go over so well with people who didn't even have porches before the disaster.

ok, so blame my pregnancy. It's Trent Lott's front porch. Whatever. I do believe the president cares. I also believe the whole government on state, local & federal levels wasn't anywhere near ready, but ought to have been.
