Somebody needs to be more careful when writing the president's speeches. I can see why the "John Ashcroft's porch" comment didn't go over so well with people who didn't even have porches before the disaster

yep, the federal level does look pretty incompetent. Locals didn't have the resources, and apparently couldnt' get them. I can certainly lay lots of blame on hiring someone who was fired from setting up horse shows to manage a large and important part of the administration. No wonder it all fell to pieces in practice.
