This week's comic books post

It's been a glorious, glorious comicbookfangeekout week* for me. Let's quickly review why :D

All-New Booster Gold #1 - . I'd heard about Booster for the first time while watching JLU and instantly fell in love In the world made of selfless boring ultragoodboyscout superheroes, he was quite a breath of fresh air, someone I could relate to. I quickly started to search net high and wide to find out more about him and it was then when I found out about Ted, their friendship and the way that Ted died. Then, of course, 52 came and my fangirl heart had been ripped out, shattered into a million pieces and pissed on, only to be restored to a shape more glorious than ever a few month later. And now we have this...
I would say: "you have no idea how much it made me squeal" but no, I think you do have an idea. The possibility that Ted might be really back, after all times they gave us hope to snatch it away (like fake Ted in Manhunter :()… do I dare to hope? I do, because Geoff loves those guys, he would not do this to us. I believe him, I believe in him.
Other than that, everything about this issue was gold. I love Danny, I love Rip and the scene with Booster walking away from The League, though painful, really moved me. He sacrifices his dream to do The Right Thing and the thing he wants in return is Ted. Beautiful.

Grifter and Midnighter: Uncivil Union #6 - it began great, first two issues got me hooked (yes, despite the Dixon’s remarks about Midny’s and Apollo sex-life), however, after the second issue it went down the drain. The series is over and in a year no one will ever remember it ever was. Thank god for that.

Countdown #37 - I’ll pay in blood, firstborns, kidneys and rapedollars to see a fanfic with those two affected by Ivy’s sexpollen. Damn, a drabble, even. Anything!
Those two dorks are totally working their way up my favorite characters list. You know what would be great? If in the end they got married. No, please, bear with me. They are chained now, right? So now imagine a cover to Countdown #1 with those two in front of the Little White Chapel and a caption: CHAINED FOR LIFE! XD
Awesome…

Sensational Spider-Man #39 - The Last Temptation of Eddie Brock - yes, I know it’s been almost a month ago but I realized that I didn’t give you my thoughts on yaoi Eddie’s fate.
I felt horrible when Eddie killed that nurse, no matter his excuse (I’m, possessed by an evil alien THAT ISN’T EVEN HERE and that bitch was waking me up to draw blood ^^;). All hope abandoned me, so the final pages with Eddie refusing to do "The Symbiote’s" biddings and not killing Aunt May was a bit of a surprise. I really thought that he would try to do this.
Eddie last word before he jumps from the window: "I’ve done terrible things, Peter but I’m not a terrible person. Forgive me" are the words I’ve been waiting for, especially the "forgive me" part. He’s not really evil, at least not as evil as Osborn or Bullseye, he has a twisted mind, psychotic personality and had done terrible, terrible things but there is a morality there, no matter how perverted.
I’ve stopped reading for a few minutes after his jump, because I was unable to look at the next page. You see, I am Eddie’s fan, a big fan, yet, I wanted him to die. He “died” twice already since he had found out about his cancer and the second “death” was his choice. He had been saved against his will, to pay for his sins in truly awful way - consumed by a cancer, every day dying a little more but never totally.
Another suicide attempt and no, once again, it didn’t work. He had been “saved” (sic!) again, by Peter, of all people. It made me angry, because I wanted him to have a good send-off, ask for forgiveness and chose the manner of his own death.

There is still hope, though. He finally said ‘no’ to the demons in his mind, his focused and less psychotic, so if the writers decide to deusexmachine him back I’ll be in for the ride.

And people, you truly have no idea how much I want him to kick current Venom‘s ass.

Namor #3 - NO I DO NOT WISH TO TALK ABOUT THIS. Here, have Namor by Alex Ross instead :D

*_* Glorious…

Speaking of Namor and Alex Ross… I still haven’t decide which version of Marvels to buy. URGH! I think I’ll flip the coin ^^;
