Last night
akiko and I went to Panciuto in Hillsborough for our anniversary. We dressed up in our Victorian (well, mine's maybe a tad Edwardian and a tad period-schizophrenic, but whatever) costumes for the occasion. It was fun! Panciuto is pretty much hella expensive but also hella worth it. They started us off with little tiny glasses of some Italian chapagne which I could actully drink. (This is notable because I generally hate champaign.) For an appetizer I had a lobster gnocchi that was amaaaaaazing... we're talking big huge hunks of lobster here. *Dies of yum.* Then a shrimp tagliatelle in a spicy tomato sauce for the main course, also quite tasty. And for dessert, something they called "coffee and doughnuts" which consisted of cute little fresh-baked pastries in powdered sugar accompanied by a cup full of the richest and smoothest coffee ice cream I've ever tasted. I was totally stuffed, but now I'm hungry again thinking about it. Need breakfast...
