My foot is much better now - not red, barely swollen and I can walk normally on it. Yay for antibiotics!
Anyway, Christmas was good, if done a bit later in the day than usual this year. I ended up missing the Christmas Eve service because I was really tired from infection-fighting, but it turned out to be a good thing because Tom called. My aunt arrived Christmas Day from Portland, escaping the weather up there for much nicer MV. We'd been at a lefse party that morning, then went to the airport to pick her up, then came home to start on Christmas dinner. David hadn't gotten his presents yet, so I ended up prodding him while he came up with coupons to give as gifts, some of which were highly entertaining (ie. "a 3-5 panel stick figure comic on the subject of your choice" and "3 minutes of strange noises and interpretive dance on the subject of your choice"). I love my brother. XD Christmas dinner was tasty: turkey, apple cranberry sauce, squash, baked sweet potatoes, broccoli, cornbread dressing and pie (2 pumpkin and 1 mince). Presents were opened between dinner and dessert.
Yesterday, I got to hang out with my friends Chris and Katie. I hadn't seen Katie since last year and Chris since the year before. Last night, we tried to set up a four-way chat using Skype between the three of us and our friend Greg in Tacoma, WA, but it wouldn't install on my brother's laptop and Chris was apparently busy with family, so Katie called me, put me on speaker phone and had Greg up on Skype, and we were able to chat that way. Mostly.
Then today, I got to hang out with my old friend Sam, whom I'd not seen in at least four years, and on top of that, today's her birthday! Sweet! (Happy birthday, Sam!) So, we talked for a while and then went downtown to get lunch, ending up at the Mongolian BBQ place that neither of us had been to in ages. It was really awesome to see her again and get all caught up, cause as great for keeping track of people as Facebook is, it just can't take the place of face-to-face interaction.
Tomorrow, I'm leaving for a week with Tom in Fresno for New Year's, with a side jaunt to Santa Nella on Saturday for Twelfth Night. I'll be sans internet until I get back to my parents' on Jan. 5.
So, enjoy your New Year's celebrations, people!
