- Last Friday, I cut myself some bangs, and I'm so nerdy that cosplay was the reason. I haven't had genuine bangs since age 12ish, and I'm still pretty sure that they are not "me." But I'm managing - I actually trimmed a little length off my top layers as well to help balance the bangs out a little, but I'm no pro - maybe after the con I will gather the courage and money to get a little stylist treatment.
- I spent the weekend basically playing with my hair and makeup, finishing up my Julia costume, and fixing up Chuck's Captain Smoker jacket. I also need to retouch the end of my katana and replace a missing button from my Sgt. Tashigi jacket. I'm really close to finished! I'm taking a half-day tomorrow so I'll have time to knock out the last of things. I hope Chuck's giant jitte will fit in the car...
- My trip out to NJ last week was educational, and also fun, since I had the opportunity to see a load of old friends while I was out there. Thanks to everyone who made time for me! I did start to understand why I was warned away so frequently from the Crowne Plaza in Cherry Hill, though - it certainly was not unlivable, but there were enough little things wrong that made me shake my head. Is this really the way they want their brand coming across to guests? Still, the rate was cheap for the area, and I was only there to sleep.
- I'm bumming about the fact that my former supervisor, who saw me in the door on my very first day here and has looked out for me during my time here, is going to leave in the beginning of June. I want to throw him a goodbye party and bake tons of desserts for it. I can't possibly communicate how much his leaving saddens me, and how very much I will miss him.
