I downloaded the latest release of UBUNTU STUDIO (9.04) to try it it. At first I was surprised that it used the old traditional Debian-style low graphics installer. Unlike the main ubuntu releases where it has it fancy graphical installer. I got over it and the system installed, whew!

since the video drivers went haywire due to my impulsive updating I really had trouble using the GUI.

So i was thinking of just re-installing (an old last-resort solution for MS Windows users). But of course I wasn't using windows and that's probably the best part.
